  1. I'm pretty sure there were some men involved in deciding that health insurance plans should provide birth control.
  2. Are you Buzz Bissinger, or was this meant to be a quote?
  3. You mean you don't have Roseanne Barr and Cindy Sheehan on the ballot, like we do here in Cali? I think Gary Johnson and Jill Stein are the only third party candidates who are on the ballot in enough states that they could (theoretically) win. Of course they won't win, but they both seem like good candidates, at least from what little I know about them.
  4. He does inspire irrational, hormone-induced thoughts. But not quite enough to conquer my crush on Biden.
  5. It is not a question of fault. It is about God's will for the nation. This makes sense to me. I know people who pray for "God's will," and I can understand that more than praying for specific things. Even for someone who doesn't believe in God, I see this practice as a form of acceptance - an active and perhaps ritualistic approach to acceptance. And I can't really argue with that. We need a certain level of acceptance whether we believe in God or not, and I think we all have different ways of finding it. Sometimes I wonder why you post this stuff in here - if it simply amuses you to get the negative feedback. I mean, it's not exactly a pro-religion forum. But perhaps it's more of a "What's the point of preaching to the choir?" sort of thing? "Welcome to Speaker's Corner! This forum is intended for discussions outside skydiving, and was created after certain types of discussions in the Bonfire area (primarily concerning politics, guns and religion) became overly contentious and began driving people away from Bonfire. We recognize that some people want to discuss some of these more-contentious issues, and thus Speaker's Corner was created." I am the founder of the Christian Skydivers Association along with Mike Lewis and four other original members of the board. I was given that vision in 1984 and I have remained obedient. It is my duty and responsibility to bring forth the message of salvation, Scripture from the Word of God and, direction from the Holy Spirit to bring skydivers closer to a relationship with Jesus Christ. Right now believers are greatly concerned about the future of America. Thus, we pray. Thanks. I hope I didn't imply that you shouldn't post this stuff in here. And your explanation of why you do is much better than my assumptions of why you do.
  6. So, do you think (generally) that Americans are more interested in making their lives better, while Europeans are more interested in taking other people down? Or were the nationalities not supposed to be significant?

  8. I can't see myself thinking either one of those thoughts. Well, maybe if the car really appealed to me for some reason, I might think I'd like to have a car like that one day, but I'm generally not interested in big luxury cars. And I definitely don't sit around wishing successful people would lose everything they have. So I guess that makes me slightly more the "American" in this story, though I don't know if the American vs. European portrayal is accurate. Sort of a broad brush there.
  9. Sounds like it is basically praying that the U.S. will experience a "Great Awakening." This page explains the suggested prayers: http://www.prayerconnect.net/resources/prayer-guides/2012-election-prayer-guide
  10. But Dinesh D'Souza says that Obama was born in Hawaii, so that should be proof enough for the Obama-haters.
  11. A long time ago, I had a cat who seemed to have a very "bad trip" when I gave him catnip. So I never gave it to him again. The cats I have now seem to love it. Except for the youngest one, who doesn't seem interested, but he's so high on life that he don't need no stinkin' drugs.
  12. This thread is worthless without pictures.
  13. And the answer to the question: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0912/81618.html
  14. That video is very well made. And funny. But I do sometimes wonder if it's good or bad to give catnip to my cats.
  15. From Obama's UN speech: And I agree with him. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/barackobama/9565687/In-full-Barack-Obamas-speech-to-UN-General-Assembly.html
  16. I think there is still a registration process for "write-in" candidates, so it probably won't be counted if it's just some random name.
  17. No. Well, maybe it's a vote for apathy. I would think from the third party and potential write-in candidates, that most people would be able to find someone who they feel is better for the job than the others. Even if that candidate doesn't have much of a chance of winning, it makes more sense to have your vote counted for that person rather than simply not voting.

    iPhone 5,

I've been paying a lot of attention to commercials lately, because of a conversation in that other forum. Most of them have been pretty neutral, but hulu keeps playing this one over and over and over, though I think it insults both genders equally: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJafiCKliA8
  19. Actually, it's been taken down from youtube now anyway. I watched the first 20-30 minutes last night, but when I went back today, it was gone. Seems it had been illegally uploaded: http://news.yahoo.com/2016-obamas-america-illegally-uploaded-youtube-false-information-185300539.html
  20. I'm waiting for the White House Weed that he'll be promoting during his second term.
  21. Do you have a link? I did a quick search but didn't find the full movie.
  22. That seems to be the message from the barrage of "beer news" I've seen lately. And coming from the apparently liberal-controlled media, I'm guessing they think this is a positive thing, though personally I'm thinking WTF??? It's not enough to change my vote one way or another, but I do find it an odd thing to be giving much attention. Anyhow, I'm not too fond of beer, so I don't really want to have a beer with Obama or anyone else. I'd gladly have a cup of joe with Mr. Biden though.
  23. I'm sure you can spin the Bible however you want, but the teachings of Christ seem to fit more with socialism than with capitalism, at least to me. (On a side note, when I did a spell check here, it wanted to replace "Obama" with "Opium." Hmm.... )
  24. Just to add the kind of story that I was referring to: http://news.yahoo.com/buzz-obama-beer-way-connect-215414817--election.html?_esi=1
  25. Kids, how many grammar mistakes can you count in this post?
