I think some people (generally better-supplied ones) look at the best weapon for the job; others need to consider the best one they have available. Hence Palestinians throwing rocks, and people using Molotov cocktails Wendy P.

It’s that whole “power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely” thing again Wendy P.
  3. Kind of like McCain in 2000, eh? Not exactly, of course, but he was doing well until all of a sudden he wasn’t — and the power-focused Republican establishment was behind Bush. Wendy P.
  4. Kind of like buggy and ICE auto workers, and coal miners, in the long run. They still exist, but as a niche market Wendy P.

    Yes, we have. Wendy P.
  6. Yeah, I got it for the first time last month — in Canada (blame Canada). So my anticipated booster before coming to Brazil Wendy P.
  7. Im in Brazil right now; the thing that this cheap labor has given for now is that there is plenty of industry; we were in a city that is one of the tile centers in Brazil, as well as having a thriving medical center with three hospitals, a manufacturer of electric towers and the like that sells worldwide, as well as the ancillary support industries for those. Another area we were in yesterday is a national producer of shoes, leather goods, knitwear, chocolate, and souvenir knives (yes, there’s a tourist center for those last two, but it also means they sell lots of the others). The US doesn’t really have much of that any more; we’re more and more a consumer society. Which ignores the existence and needs of many who aren’t of above average intelligence and/or education (I.e. half the population), who are more and more being relegated to positions of asking for things like food stamps and other assistance, and who have trouble finding decent places to live they can afford Wendy P.
  8. Well, I’d say a whole lot of jumpers have ADD, as well as ADHD. I think the adrenaline might help with focus Wendy P.
  9. We’d figure it out. It’s more the corruption than anything else. If we think we have it bad with Biden vs Trump, they had it way worse. Wendy P.
  10. I’m currently in Brazil for comparison ;-> Wendy P.
  11. I’ve been lucky enough to remember a decent number of elections (mostly lower level) where I was voting for someone, rather than against someone else. And yes, in Texas, too Wendy P.
  12. I’m wondering. Is he worse for the Republican Party or the country. And which is the more important sin? Because if, bad as he is, you still won’t vote for someone who might unseat him, that’s a lovely and meaningless speech. Unfortunately (and I really mean this), this election is likely to be another where it’s more important to vote against the worst than it is to vote safe. Unless Trump is only the worst Republican, and your opinion is that there isn’t a democrat who is capable of being better Note — Biden is too old. But even too old, with Kamala Harris (who will attract antagonism from everyone who’s ever even heard of Fox News and be practically hogtied by the negative attitude) as his backup, personally I think he’s better than Trump. In large part because with all his imperfections, he respects the nature of our country, and the political processes that make it one of the best in the world. Destroying those processes for personal gain and power (as Trump tried to do) is probably worse in the long run than shooting that guy on Main Street that he bragged he could do Wendy P.
  13. The thing is, exactly what you’re looking for may not exist, but something close might, that takes adjustment on both sides. Diesel is relatively well-traveled if I remember rightly, and may be able to advise as to how to approach various dropzones that might need work. There are very few perfect jobs; looking for one is generally very frustrating, and business owners want someone to fill their needs, not the other way around . Some of them might be perfect — i jump at a seasonal DZ now, so I know it’s not ideal, and I don’t know the personalities you’d be dealing with where I used to jump; it’s been too long since I jumped there. His information is probably more current Wendy P.
  14. If it walks and talks like that kind of suck, then for Pete’s sake don’t elect it! Wendy P.
  15. I have a few hundred jumps on them; loading 1.3-1.5. Short recovery arc; fun, but a lousy trainer for swooping apparently. I found it predictable, and it opened OK; often with a twist, but I never had a spin. I didn’t have great results with psycho packing it, less predictable openings. But otherwise eminently predictable, which I like Wendy P.
  16. I’d also have to disagree with that, as someone with un-awesome depth perception who’s jumped both types extensively. The biggest thing about the F-111 canopies of my era at least was they were bigger, and just didn’t develop as much forward speed. Less three dimensional translating to do in a hurry Wendy P.
  17. He did lose his position in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame over that Wendy P.
  18. Same way we’ve ended up here all those other times Wendy P.
  19. Next on OAN: “Trump with Alzheimer’s is twice as good as Biden without.” Wendy P.
  20. Oh my. I’m sorry to hear that Wendy P.
  21. I just said what I did because it means that DeSantis doesn’t have to pander them; child poverty isn’t a priority. Wendy P.
  22. Children don’t vote Wendy P.
  23. That doesn’t seem to make them a good fit for before belly unless they’re pulling in the basement, and that’s not something I want to depend on. Wendy P.
