  1. Was it a porter? Where a parapalegic tadem as first out. i seen that one on iloveskydiving.org
  2. 45 degree rule is a source with ZERO VALUE. Having NO DATA whatsoever, I would watch the ground covered distance with my eyes, or, if ground view was partially obstructed by clouds, leave 15 seconds between groups just to be safe. Yeah I'm just an old fart...but I believe if you can't spot efficiently by your C license you'd better take some lessons. If I were King it would be part of the D license requirements. In Finland you can't get your A-license without being able to spot and/or use a WDI to determine the exit point. Its on the A license proficency card from the USPA as well.
  3. What is it about this DZ that makes it a C license DZ?
  4. You forgot BOOBIES!! www.skydiveaddiction.com Theres a little clicky for you.
  5. I feel your pain. Im in the same boat. Im 6'2" and 240. Ive just decided to order a new container and buy used canopies.
  6. Yip!! Socal does have all the above and as far as the skydiving goes. I have only jumped at 2 DZ out here but its the weather that makes it awesome. I started my AFF in december and had my A license in Febuary. Im lots of ppl on here will agree that socal is one of the best places to skydive.
  7. Move to socal and you will never have to take time off.

  12. Thanks for all the good advice. Yea this will be my first twin otter jump. So far i have only jumped a caravan on my tandem, and a 182 and 206 for my AFF and Student jumps.

  17. What everybodys recomendation for a jump suit for me. Im 6'2" and 245 and i fall fast. Want something that will help slow me down.
  18. exactly where in LA r u goin to be moving to. I just finished my AFF and am about 1 weekend away for getting my 25 jumps needed for my A license. Currently i jump out of taft but i will be venturing to elsinore as soon as i get my A.
  19. Pops thanks for the great feedback. This may not have been a serious emergency but from where i was sittig at the time it sure felt like it. Im pretty low on jump numbers. It sure got the adrenaline pumping. i was planning on doin my first hop n pop that day. it just wasnt planned on that one or under those circumstances. i look forward to doin a few more of them next time i head to the dz. The day before i had done two exits where i practiced getting stable quickly in preperation for my hop n pop. it sure payed off doin that. Thanks again for all the POSITIVE feedback.
  20. I will be and i look forward to them. i got stable right away and deployed in 5 seconds. i have a altitrack and it said i was deployed at 3060.
  21. Possibly. A jump on video costs me $420. If I turn that into my hobby I'll be broke soon i know this all to well but now i pay 25 a ticket to altitude!! Its worth it!!
  22. I finally did my first Hop n Pop. I had been dreading it. I still deploy at 4500 so i had never been that low. Well we were on our way to 12000 when the pilot looked back and said the turbo just went out on the 206 and it was time to get out. That sure made my heart start pounding. So out i went, we were at 3500. When that door opened man did the ground look close. That was one hell of a good rush doin my first Hop n Pop under emergency conditions. It was a great learning experience and i got to check off my hop n pop on my proficency card. And on top of this my friend was also in the plane on his very first solo jump off AFF. Im sure it was an even bigger rush for him. Great times! Blue skies!
  23. my friend was the same way. said he would do one and only one tandem. now he is on lvl 3 of his AFF course. Just do it im sure u will regret not doin it more than doin it. and who knows u may find out u love it and want more!
  24. and i thought WARP stood for Wave Arch Reach PULL! haha
  25. im heading out to taft tomorrow. Im hopin to get in 5 jumps. Anybody on here jump out of taft??
