  1. i think it might but you should call Sunrise. i have a rig fit for a 190 with a 210 zpx in it and it fits fine.
  2. it sure helped me and all my friends thru AFF. i recommend it.
  3. good call on the tunnel all the guys at skyventure colorado r awesome. it will help for sure. also keep in mind that there is a wind tunnel at eloy as well.
  4. my data is based on the information from my Altitrack. not exact but it gives me a general idea. i download my data to paralog and you can see from the graphs.
  5. i have started a new thread for you relating to how long your canopy takes to open so we can stay on topic hear. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?poll=1&poll_id=9781&forum_id=18&poll_type=0&post_id=4378090&poll_answer_id=44988&do%3Dpoll_vote%3Bredo%3Dpost_view_flat%3Bpost%3D4378090%3Broot_post%3D4378090%3Bpoll%3Dresults%3B=Vote
  6. How Long is too long?? Another thread has been hijacked talking about this subject so i thought it deserved its own thread. I said that i get consistant 600-900 openings. The majority of the time they r right about 600. With the occasional one that takes longer than that but never more than 900. And i started pumping the rear risers and the slider dropped down the rest of the way. I jump a pilot 210 i bought brand new and i now have about 35 jumps on it. So my data size is still very small. i pro pack and get on heading opening about 90% of the time and have yet to have a hard opening with it. Before i got the pilot i was jumping a demo Sabre 2 210 and them opening were faster and almost always off heading. and i got one hard opening with it but i only had about 10 jumps on it. I am still very new to the sport so im curious to hear what other ppls experiences have been. thanks blue skies
  7. I bought a Smart reserve and contacted Aerodyne about demoing a Smart as my main, but they told me due to lack of interest they no longer demo Smarts set up as mains. I was bummed i really wanted a chance to fly my reserve in a controlled jump.
  8. now thats an execelent choice you will be super happy!!!!!!
  9. im really curious, do you feel like sharing what ur home DZ is?

  11. A "little further"????? Elsinore, CA to Taft, CA is 186 miles, approximately 3:20 travel time (ONE WAY). Even here in Texas, that isn't "a little further"! I cant argue that but what you would save is still less than you would spend on gas. But you cant go wrong with elsinore. They have a great group of instructors there. I did my AFF and all jumps thru my A at Taft. But now i jump mostly at elsinore. The Amount of learning they have available to you for free after you get your A is awesome. Your crazy if you live in socal and DONT take advantage of there Excel Camps.
  12. You're right about it not being a problem if you are outside and not around anybody's gear. BUT, it is a problem if someone is smoking in the landing area. The OP found a couple of cigarettes STILL BURNING. It is very rude and could easily damage somebody's gear. I know I'd be pretty upset, if I found some burn holes in my canopy when I was packing. Wouldn't you? I completely agree with you thats why i said not around anybodys gear. They landing area and packing area should be off limits to smoking. Any ppl that smoke shouldnt be just throwing there burning cig butts in the landing area. Littering the DZ isnt kool they should put them out and throw them in the trash.
  13. my biggest worry about being up for that long is the possibility of being hit by another passing airplane you would want to wear a transponder of some sorts so other aircraft and ATC could see you.
  14. i recommend elsinore over perris. there is also skydive Taft which is the most cost effective AFF program its 400 cheaper that elsinore and even more than that over perris. But its a little further and its a smaller DZ but because of that you get alot more 1 on 1 attention from your instructors. But Any way you go you cant go wrong with any of these 3 DZ's.
  15. wheres the BOOBIES choice??? and i think that as long as your not smoking around anybody gear beside your own and your outside your good. you have the choice to walk away.
  16. wouldnt dumping in a track just be the same as dumping from a wingsuit jump? i would also think it could be good training for me untill i hit that lucky number 200 jump and can do a auctual wingsuit jump. how do people deploy from a tracking suit jump r they going belly to earth or do they just contine the track all the way thru deployment?
  17. i have dumped in a track twice and didnt feel like that were any rougher. i just felt like i swung forward more like when u do a hop and pop how u swing forward. i just wanted to make sure that there were no serious saftey concerns in doin so. thanks for the advice. i jump a pilot and get consistand 600-900 openings and have yet to have a hard opening. Edited to add: i have never dumped in a track from a full tracking dive. just after a rw and sitfly jump where i was tracking for somewhere between 6-10 seconds. using the data from my altitrack i believe i have a fairly strong flat track. i slow my vertical speed down to the high 70s low 80s. but i do not know what my horizontal speed is.
  18. how and what malfunctions can it cause??
  19. it deploying in a track a bad or unsafe idea?
  20. Just go back to taft. They also have a 320 student rig.
  21. the only real differance between zpx and zp is that the zpx packs about a size smaller. for example when i bought my container i had it sized for a 190 and bought a 210 pilot zpx and it fits in there just fine. and good choice on the pilot. i love mine. so u could get a container for a 150 and put a 170 zpx pilot in it giving you a greater range of canopies that will fit.
  22. i love my contour and i want the new one.
