shah269 0 #117 May 23, 2010 3784 reviews.....wow! OK I'm very sorry it took me so long to write but I was in class yesterday from 8-6. OK First off I would like to say that Mr. Brian Germain and his amazing book and lectures. For the first time I actually felt comfortable under a canopy! OK so let's see....last jump had a very hard landing....6 months after that almost to the day divorce.....and here I was with my good friends and my great friend Sim in a King air rocketing up to 13k for my test jump....to see if i still had my wings. It took me.....10 seconds or more to really feel relaxed and at peace with the world. Which was nice since the rig i was waring was adjusted for some one who was about 6ft tall and I'm only 5' 8" and had a hard time reaching for the hacky But never the less, after the first ten seconds.....i was just so happy and so relaxed to be where I was last happy. Now I would like to thank the makers of the Ultima II for such a great product. Yes it's not an instructor but a good tool to help one train their eyes for altitude awareness down low. Problem is that you have to read the instructions or else you will misinterpret the 200ft signal and turn in at well over that and glide like a meet sausage right past all of your friends, right down the length of the DZ and land square in the middle of the runway! But thanks to the 280's great float and responsive flare it was no worse than stepping off a curb. So I packed up my stuff and walked back to the DZ and made another jump 40 min later but this time with the container correctly adjusted. And wow jumping out of a king air is very different than a 180. But never the less, did my turns did my docks pulled and had a wonderful opening and this time had a very soft swoopy landing on my but with my feel in PLF form. Again thank you every one for your help. I greatly appreciated it! I can't wait till I jump next week. It's good to be back, it's amazing what you guys have in the air. I know some of you may not really realize it but what you have in that minute of free fall can't be bought with money or found with drugs. Absolute freedom, absolute peace but more importantly redemption. Thank you all! Especially you mdrejhon and wmw999 thank you fyi low wing loading on a AFP student......is the way to go.
