The shortage began after Abbott Laboratories shut down a plant in Michigan after four infants who consumed formula made at the facility fell seriously ill. Abbott controls about 42% of the U.S. market, and the other three large manufacturers (Perrigo, Nestle and Mead Johnson) haven’t been able to increase production fast enough to compensate. Ergo, empty shelves.

Biden is so sneaky he created a problem but made it look like monopoly capitalism to blame.

"The Biden administration and most Democrats in Congress appear to be in lockstep with the Trump administration about the USMCA, according to Gantz, especially when it comes to seeking to create new American jobs and investment in the U.S. auto industry rather than in Mexico."

The insinuation that a fetus is part of a woman's body, is derailed by a simple question.

How many mothers share the same blood type as their offspring?

Tough a difficult question to answer correctly, it makes it plain and simple that ones offspring is not at all part of a woman's body.

Life is much more complex than the degenerate and nihilistic account of unhinged feminists or cum dumpsters.

And no, the mothers that do have the same blood type as their child, do not have an excise to kill them once pregnant because their life decisions are inconvenient.

i am a balanced kind of guy and have always been a proponent of first trimester termination in certain circumstances.

Now that feminist's are openly fighting for the trade in used body parts for industry.

I reckon they should be going to jail and certain figures executed.

Enough is enough.

The trade in baby parts has nothing whatsoever to do with healthcare, it is pure malevolence.

Then no worries!  Like a woman's nails and hair (which are not the same blood type as she is, therefore not part of her body) let the woman decide what she wants to do with them,

If anti-abortionists were serious, they would donate their dollars to adoption agencies, pre-schools, kindergartens, after-school programs, etc.

They are only 'pro-birth'.
Once the kid pops out, they no longer give a fuck.

But "they gave a f$#@! 9 months ago."

Shouldn't they be held responsible for their actions?

No. Responsibility is for other people.

Everything you need to know about GOP responsibility and policy about abortion.

Discussion over.

How did getting rid of NAFTA and replacing it with USMCA, an updated version of the nearly 25-year-old, trillion-dollar North American Free Trade Agreement cause the baby formula shortage?

This explains it pretty decently:

https://fortune.com/2022/05/17/us-infant-baby-formula-shortage-imports-fda-nutrition-tariffs-usmca/

"The U.S. imposes high tariffs—up to 17.5%—on imported baby formula. Formula is also subject to a mechanism called a tariff-rate quota, where additional duties can be placed on goods once total imports pass a certain level.

As part of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), negotiated by President Donald Trump to replace the North America Free Trade Agreement in July 2020, Canada agreed to impose an additional surcharge of $3/kg if the total volume of its global formula exports—not just exports to the U.S.—broke a certain threshold. That threshold is currently set at 40,480 metric tons for the current "dairy year" of August 1 2021 to July 31 2022.

The new duties seemingly closed off Canada as a source of infant formula. The U.S. imported a grand total of zero tons of baby formula from its northern neighbor in 2021, yet has shipped tons of domestic formula into Canada. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, U.S.-manufactured infant formula made up the largest component of U.S. dairy exports to Canada in 2021, accounting for 22% of all northbound dairy trade."

My wife is semi-retired but the company she works for one day a week has just announced the same policy.
