2022 book burning America

And it's sad that the people in that bottom pic aren't bright enough to see the parallels.
Or they are and it's intentional.

Either way - these are not good people.

They can't see the parallels, because they don't read books.

Trump supporters enjoy hurting people and seeing people hurt...

As long as they're the 'right' people'.

They've even been quoted saying so.

What does the second S in the USSR stand for?  I forgot.

That's as meaningful as asking what the D stands for in DPRK. At this point I could also throw in the U in USA.

To republicans both of those mean exactly the same thing - "that which is bad."

Except Trump wanted more immigrants to come from Norway.
You know, a 'nice country', not a 'shithole'.

And also a rather socialist regime.

Of course, idiots who confuse strong man totalitarianism, or communism with 'socialism' don't think so, mainly because Norway is successful.

What are you implying by this ?  ..that migrants from other countries should not be welcome if that country is alleged to be either socialist or communist ?  Is it inconceivable to you that Trump (or the 'right' for that matter) would be aware that all migrants are not necessarily responsible for the type of government in their country of origin?  I'm not quite following why you would find it strange for Trump to welcome migrants from Norway.

Certainly both words have specific, and different, definitions. In a broader context both have a rather negative track record of success.

As you're generally critical of republicans; Would I be fair to assume that you don't regard both as 'bad'?   From your previous posts I expect you're comfortable with a measure of socialism, perhaps even 100% socialist government?  Is there a 'line in the sand' that you have in mind?  A balance whereby you won't seem hypocritical of supporting some socialist ideas but not others?  What is the defining characteristic of a socialist idea that makes it 'good' or 'bad', in your view?

Well I didn’t get any American Rescue Plan $$…so I am used to putting into much more than I am getting out.

OK, so you're a conditional socialist.  When you benefit socialism is good.  If anybody else benefits it's bad.

Here are a few other socialist aspects of the USA.  Which do you think should be eliminated?  Police; fire departments; public education (K-12, state universities); interstate highways; municipal water; water (sewage) treatment plants; municipal/state/national parks; FEMA; air traffic control; etc.

Most republicans are socialists for all the programs that benefit them.  Heck, none other than right wing icon Ayn Rand became a socialist when she started running out of money, and wanted her sweet, sweet government checks.

Any discussion of "socialism" is pointless as long as the left & right don't even use the same meaning for the word.

  • Left wing definition: Democracy, capitalist economy, with social safety-net programs.
  • Right wing definition: Autocracy, with command economy.
