Interestingly KY did not ratify the 14th until 1976. The confederate states were mostly forced to ratify until enough states had to declare it. This was done by the reconstruction act, martial law, the dissolution of existing state governments and the denying of federal representation until it was ratified. The main sticking point was clearly giving black people full citizenship and the right to vote. How did you come to the fantastical conclusion that the 2nd amendment was a main factor? Did you get this from FOX or Der Sturmer?

But I am sure that you have overwhelming evidence to show the massive reduction in death, injury and crime due to the lax gun laws in the USA, right?

Yep, it is strongly correlated to genetics.  But as I mentioned, IQ increases by about 3 points for every year of education completed.  So if you're starting out a little intellectually challenged due to your parents, you could consider education to improve that.

(Or, of course, just watch FOX News, which is pitched to lower educational levels - and will tell you you are smarter than all those evil, snooty ivory tower liberals.)

Louisiana currently has the second highest gun homicide rate in the country, the second highest incarceration rate in the country and is #1 in prison spending.  Only one thing to do to solve these problems - add more guns!  And make it easier to shoot people, and get rid of any firearm training.

Senate Bill 1, provided to them by the NRA, will allow people to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.  It also lowers the age for concealed carry from 21 to 18 and removes the existing training requirements.

Senate Bill 2 allows people who hold concealed gun permits, under most circumstances, to shoot someone without fear of being sued. 

House Bill 2 prohibits lawsuits against police officers for their actions while on duty unless except in cases of criminal, fraudulent or intentional misconduct. 

The Louisiana legislature has not announced what they will do with the 'campaign contributions' they recently received from gun manufacturers.
