More sacrifices to the 2nd Amendment

You'll note that the 2nd Amendment was the primary sticking point for passing the 14th.

Interestingly KY did not ratify the 14th until 1976. The confederate states were mostly forced to ratify until enough states had to declare it. This was done by the reconstruction act, martial law, the dissolution of existing state governments and the denying of federal representation until it was ratified. The main sticking point was clearly giving black people full citizenship and the right to vote. How did you come to the fantastical conclusion that the 2nd amendment was a main factor? Did you get this from FOX or Der Sturmer?

So that one worked out exactly as intended then. Two people arguing and each know the other is armed, they literally have no choice but to start shooting in preemptive self defence.

Now back to why liberal’s gun laws are so stupid…

gun laws are neither 'liberal' nor otherwise.  OTHER COUNTRIES have guns, effective guns laws and less death, injuries and the like from gun violence.  The USA stands alone in trying to justify the lame ass excuses it continuously spouts for justifying its open access to weaponry

But I am sure that you have overwhelming evidence to show the massive reduction in death, injury and crime due to the lax gun laws in the USA, right?

You can note it all you want. But we all know that the 2nd amendment really should be decided by states, but we can't trust the 14th amendment to be handled by states.

Sure, that would be much greater.  On average you see a 3 point bump in IQ for every year of school you complete.  There's a fair amount of evidence that school is cause and IQ is effect - learning one thing improves your brain's ability to learn other things, and increases your ability to see abstract relationships. (The alternative would be that "well, of course he completed more school, he's smarter!" which isn't well supported.)

“recent studies showing heritability for IQ as high as 80%….strongly correlated with genetics for late teens and adults” IOW post elementary education does little to improve one’s intellect

IQ is largely a genetic gift/curse as is height, eye and hair color.

Thanks, but this is the gun thread.

Yep, it is strongly correlated to genetics.  But as I mentioned, IQ increases by about 3 points for every year of education completed.  So if you're starting out a little intellectually challenged due to your parents, you could consider education to improve that.

(Or, of course, just watch FOX News, which is pitched to lower educational levels - and will tell you you are smarter than all those evil, snooty ivory tower liberals.)

Sorry wrong thread. That said, admonishing one for thread drift in this forum is tantamount to handing out speeding tickets at the Indianapolis 500.

For sure. I was simply jabbing your ass for fucking up an IQ post, a practice that is strongly correlated to many of my other posts.

'Stand your ground' law now associated with more deaths from guns (scrippsnews.com) - difficult to find good data, largely because government is not interested in tracking much of anything to do with gun violence

Louisiana currently has the second highest gun homicide rate in the country, the second highest incarceration rate in the country and is #1 in prison spending.  Only one thing to do to solve these problems - add more guns!  And make it easier to shoot people, and get rid of any firearm training.

Senate Bill 1, provided to them by the NRA, will allow people to carry a concealed weapon without a permit.  It also lowers the age for concealed carry from 21 to 18 and removes the existing training requirements.

Senate Bill 2 allows people who hold concealed gun permits, under most circumstances, to shoot someone without fear of being sued.

House Bill 2 prohibits lawsuits against police officers for their actions while on duty unless except in cases of criminal, fraudulent or intentional misconduct.

The Louisiana legislature has not announced what they will do with the 'campaign contributions' they recently received from gun manufacturers.

God Lord, what a bunch of sissies. In AZ they're putting through a bill to allow anyone simply hanging out at your house to whack the next trespasser to wander by just on the belief they needed killing. Now that's legislatin'.

Sad thing is that a sizeable fraction of the population supports measures like these.

Maybe the south should have been allowed to secede in 1861.

Hey, we freely joined then freely left the Union.  What's the problem?

If the Confederacy wasn't attacked, slavery couldn't have survived into the 20th century.

So it was the Union who attacked Fort Sumter???

That was an eviction.  No Yankees were killed in the process, they were sent packing - under arms - after being kicked off of Confederate property.

An eviction, was it? By the South Carolina Sheriffs Association?

Countries almost never break up peacefully. The problem was the south wasn't strong enough to pull it off. And it still isn't.

Do you agree with Winsor's message?

No, but I also think he enjoys leash jerking albeit with a tad more flair and finesse than others here. Hence, your assertion that the transpiration of those events somehow "kills him" strikes me a simple needling for no reason.

Winsor has a habit of posting staggeringly racist things, and a habit of defending the Confederacy as the unjustly injured party. My assertion is a pretty straightforward 'if x then y' of Winsor's own words.

By contrast, you have absolutely nothing to say about the topic as per usual and are simply posting an ad hom that serves no purpose than to be an ad hom, as you often do with several different people here. The needling is entirely yours and entirely pointless.
