JohnnyMarko 1 #1 October 1, 2013 With everything going on in the political world, this question came to my mind...the number of times I've posted in speakers corner has gone way up, but if you look, my posts have really no value at all, just my observations of what is going on (pandas and the like). I'm your typical 23 year old 'don't give a shit' kinda kid...I don't vote, I hardly watch the news, I live my life day to day and I'm happy as fuck with my life right now...I take things as they come...My partner is waaaaaaaaaay left....like, way...and occasionally I'll ask a question about current events with a legitimate interest to know more, but he just goes off on some rant and loses me at 'Obama' every time...again, I don't belong to a party so it's nothing to do with liking/disliking Obama, I just don't care... I can get along w/ people who are conservative or liberal as I can find something in common with either viewpoint and I can agree with parts of either. As long as you can respect that someone else has a different opinion, formed by their considering the evidence that they think is important, then it's possible. Take away that respect, and if the people are passionate it gets ugly. If they don't care, then no problem. But it's rabidly partisan on either side that turns me off -- I have a cousin I can barely tolerate listening to because she's so rabidly partisan Democratic & union-is-everything. But, replying to the OP - I think that if a couple have completely opposing life philosophies then I think coupling your life together would be a mistake. Nothing stopping you being friends, but can you imagine an extreme leftist having kids with a die-hard free market advocate? It would be a nightmare for all involved. Every couple has it's differences, but when it comes to life philosophy there needs to be at least some closeness in point of view even if you don't agree on certain points.
