What are those signatures? I don't even know, but if this bomb had "left wing extremist" signatures, I hope the media would report that the same.

AP 15 April 2013 - Observers noted that the backback of poorly constructed hemp was laid gently near the 'recycling friendly' receptacle. Observers noted that the suspect carefully checked for spotted owl eggs before riding a Segway down the block - stopping 12 times to pick wallets from various spectators and then taking the money and giving it to next person down the street. Police are combing the area for a person of questionable gender with pony tails, Birkenstocks, excessive body odor and a self satisfied and superior smirk. WARNING, do not confront this individual, call a sensitivity counselor and stay back, the suspect may be wearing crystals.

bbwwaaahahahaha.... this just made my day!! :D:D:D
Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)

Those "experts" are media whores, which makes them even worse than the media at throwing shit at the wall in the absence of factual information to fill the air time with.

^^ Yes, this!!

As for left vs right...if we're picking one to attack a road race, 8 to 1 says it's right wing nuts. The left is going to attack a financial institution like the Fed building, or conceivably a Div I football program that 'steals money from students.'

Did I or the article I linked to say it wasn't Al Q? They particularly mention that it could be, that this bomb has signatures of both fringe terrorist group AND Al Q.

So no, I'm not kidding. And FYI, I could care less if they said the signature was left wing fringe. It is what it is, signature is a signature, and that's that. I'm not going to throw a news network under the bus for reporting on a certain groups bomb signature.

so what you're saying is that the article didn't draw the conclusion that it was right wing extremists, it pointed out it was a possibility, and YOU drew the conclusion that it was a right wing extremist?

There are experts who are saying that the bomb type is al quada group uses

So who is correct?

I guess the one that gets out there first is all that counts

Hey Jerry.
I think the problem is the same problem that mankind has had throughout history.
Mankind has a problem with intolerance and violence.
I feel most people try to be tolerant, and most resist the violent side of who we are(animals with animal urges, and big brains)but there have always been those who embrace the darker side of human nature, and I do not see this changing anytime soon.
In fact I expect things to get worse as the population continues to grow and resources diminish.
Just like any other animals, humans get less tolerant and more violent when they are hungry and living without comfort or security.
There is no way we can stop crazy, angry, intolerant people from attacking others, even by taking away individual freedoms that would only hurt law abiding citizens.
These people will get explosives, get guns, get poisons, start fires,ect...no matter what laws you implement.

Anyway, how have you been? Have not seen you around yet this year.

Hi Tool,

I agree with almost all of your post.

For about 35 yrs now I have been opposed to additional controls on guns. I just wanted to see the existing laws enforced.

However, with 20 6-yr olds dead I do think that we need to do something more. And then we need to enforce the laws.

I feel the same way about illegal immigration. The 1986 law was supposed to 'solve all of our immigration problems.' The problem is/was that Congress simply will not fund the programs to enforce the law.

I'm good, I think. :P

The guy broke 40+ laws. What extra law(s) could there have been that would have made him say, "Maybe I shouldn't do this." Crazy people find ways to be crazy, be it with guns or pressure cookers.

No extra laws. But you generally do see that when less tools are available, less work gets done. And generally, the more effective a tool, the more effective the person using it is.

It is just one of those crazy nut jobs, probably a lone wolf, from the fringes. Left wing has them too-- like weather underground, anti-capitolists, etc. This event happens to have signatures of right wing extremist groups-- should we deny that? Should it not be reported?

And the circle is now closed:

Apparently a left wing fanatic was so pissed off at the Senate that he blew up a fertilizer plant in Texas. (lefties like organic foods).

It's just as ridiculous when the other guys do it.

OK, NOW is the time for RobertMBlevins and his reddit/4chan friends to go to town on IDing these dudes. Before, it was Richard Jewell all over again. Now? they might actually help.

Over under on how long it takes to ID them? I set my line at 32 hours.

And if it turns out they had nothing to do with it, so what, their lives are already ruined

There is so much pressure to have a suspect, anyone not in power may be sacrificed [:/]

If the FBI was circulating *my* photos, I would have burned everything I was wearing then, regardless if I did it or not.:o
