Do you have healthcare currently? What is your view on the bill?

Recommended Posts

>If not, why did pro life representatives want stronger anti-abortion language?

Because their goal is to ban all abortions. If they could do that by sneaking a total ban into a heathcare bill, they would have. Since this bill does not do that, they are unhappy.

>I don't want my tax dollars going to fund abortions.

Nor do I. Fortunately, that's not what's happening.

I don't know how "one sided" C-Span was but that is what I was listening to all day, and I defiantly heard them say that the executive order the Barrack committed to as the debate was going on was not worth the paper it was written on. It has no binding in the court of law, and the law as it was passed allows for public funding for abortions.

If not, why did pro life representatives want stronger anti-abortion language?

I don't want my tax dollars going to fund abortions.

And I dont want my tax dollars going to support the retro-active abortions that so many of you "conservatives" salivate over.

I also dont want my tax dollars going to support puppet governments that have policies of retro-active abortion for their own people who oppose them in their countries.

I don't know anyone in the US that doesn't have access to health care-I personally have health insurance partially subsidized by my employer as part of my compensation package.
I support health care reform, but not this flavor.

Right, the kind that allows for people to buy across state lines and the sort of nothingness that helps no one.

Yes, I have healthcare. It's very good healthcare. And unfortunately, it's probably one of those "premium" plans that might get a whole lot more expensive, so my employer may not be offering it much longer.

You're a lwayer, so you're probably at minimum wage, so that's real tough. This law, the president and congress are about helping people and closing the priv gap; he's an awesome guy.

BTW, I'm sure you can afford a good plan w/o help.

I don't want government run healthcare, and fortunately I don't have to have it under this bill.

But lucky you gets to help pay for everyone elses now too

Yes, I work and pay taxes, I will be paying and have some guarantee that I will also get HC. See how it works; we all pay - we all get. Unlike the other way; we all pay and some get.

How can you think it's right that family llike my wife and I have worked hard to get where we are, pay our own hc and have never asked for a handout. Are not eligible to use YOUR healthcare because we make too much, yet we are going to have to face higher costs on our insurance due to what my govt has forced upon me and I still have to pay for other peoples insurance? That's basically stealing! I would not mind so much if I had to pay taxes but the option to drop my private insurance and get what I am already paying taxes for!

That's like paying county taxes for a local school then be told you make too much money you have to send your kids to private school. Obj but you must keep giving us money

But some of us work for a small business (albeit a FANTASTIC small business) that can not afford to offer "good" health care plans. When I worked for SunTrust, I LOVED my healthcare options. Not so much when you work for a small business. I'm just glad the can afford to offer some type of healthcare, otherwise I could not work where I do because I could not have a lapse in coverage because of my preexisting condition.

And I wonder about the kids that were watching TV and going to movies while I was cleaning looms all night in a cotton mill. during high school, and the ones who rode daddy's checkbook through college while I was slinging hash in a Huddle House to pay for tech school. I wonder about the people that hit the door at quitting time saying my job is done while I was asking what else can I do. Mostly I wonder about the people that try to throw a generalization on me without having a goddamn clue what I've done to get out of the trailer park and away from the government cheese. I have no fucking sympathy for the people that sit on their ass blaming everything but the fucking dog next door about not having a chance or an opportunity or a break when the truth is that you go make your own. And if you don't think life is fair-Fair is where to get cotton candy.

Ok, now that I've stopped laughing, I'll make you a deal... I'll pay your health care premiums if you make my student loan payments. How's that sound?

Punish me and my kids because they have their education paid for by me busting my ass for 20 years so they dont have to work as hard as I did.

This is why socialism sucks ass... the ones that work hard are penalized so the lazy fucks can keep up. Sure am glad our forefathers didnt think like this!

It's unlikely that you have never received any so-called handout. Unemployment, etc.

My HC is free because I haven't had it for 10 years. I work fucking hard and I will have it soon. I don't make near min wage, so your inferrence that I get access is as foolish as the rest of your whining drool.

And my taxes have to pay for your war, your fucking kids (or someone's in my state) to go to school. See, everyone has a draw, just that guys like yiouy want to limit the draws to only things you like.

That's basically stealing!

No, Bush's single penalty wa steal;ing, IMO. The wars, the grossly overbuilt military, etc are stealing. If you looked up the definition of stealing you would be embarrassed, even as a metaphor.

You don't have to pay taxes? Also, this law is basically just HMO reform, allowing per-existers. No public option, no single payer.

I think you're confused as to what is in this bill/law, it doesn't just dole out coverage, it just makes the ins cos fly a little more straight.

The black helicopters have landed, relax, this bill won't take effect for a while and when it does it won't affect that much. This is not socialized medicine, it's HMO reform at best.

Pure tangent. Yes becoming a lawyer is expensive, but it pays for itself. Tell ya what, I'll pay your school loans of you take a fucking skydrol bath everyday. You would last exactly 15 minutes and go into shock. Speaking of laughing, a lawyer whining about current pay and / or potential pay is a joke.

Your company may also be failing to game the system in the right way.

The big thing for smaller companies these days is Professional Employer Organizations which allow small companies to outsource the employer/employee relationship including benefits.

Companies like ADP (market cap 22.67B) can do a much better job getting good benefit deals than Mom & Pop Co.

Limits on group sizes vary with the specific PEO.

Trade organizations may also be an option for group insurance. For example, I can get insurance for small businesses through the Microsoft Alumni Network.

Right, another response with no detail, just ask other s to jump on board. If you have no counter, how can I counter-respond to that? I can't. Anyway, since I will get nothing intelligent from you, really do enjoy Obama and our new leader; he's just been inaugurated ;)
