SELL SELL SELL! (cause I'm buying)

Amazing how many gullible deadenders there are in this country.... but I dont think the 21% deadenders can turn the economy around just on gun and ammo sales alone..

I don't want them to! I want them to sell their stock holdings. The market will drop a bit more, I'll buy, and they can head for the hills. When the economy recovers I might have them over for a beer, to thank them for giving me a good position in the companies they bailed on.

Me too! :)
Well, mine's technically a loft. I still get a mortgage, tho' -- my first. :D

A friend said he asked his Stock broker what he's buying??

"Canned Goods and Ammo!!!" was the reply!!

I'm all stocked up on emergency supplies, which includes ammo.

But I'm also buying plenty of other things just now. Stocks are pretty much on sale, and real estate is on sale in some parts of the country, too.

Tuned exhaust system for my plane, stainless steel exhaust system for my antique car, new siding on the house, insulated the attic to R49, and vacation trips to Scotland in May and Italy in July.

I am buying as well. A well diversified portfolio, kind of fun really (sad it took the past to get it where it is now, for me to have fun with it though).

I also bought a new car, Honda, figured the mileage was good (31+ city, 35+ highway) and the company looks to be around for a few more years.

And now Dad, Mom and I are looking at more property.

Maybe we can turn this around our selves and shorten this depresion, aye?

New car (Rebate, tax credit, and employee pricing... they about gave it to me)
New windows for the house (Tax credit on those too)
Saved 2% on the house mortgage

After losing my ass in the 401K I'm up so far this year and look to go way up.

This is not that bad of a situation for those that had saved up for it.

buying some gold

You missed that boat. If I were willing to play to commodities, I'd look at copper and oil.

It depends on what part it plays in your portfolio. As a "sky is falling" insurance policy, in case this really is the end of the world as we know it, gold is a fairly sensible choice. It's hard to stack enough copper or oil in your basement to really capture much value.

I am buying more of everything than I have ever bought before. [:/]

I have never had this problem. Everything is so damn inexpensive right now and I never realized how weak I am to an incredible offer or deal. It is like that guy in the tire commercial who does not own a car, but just bought four tires for a bargain. :S

I am a woman who researches and shops the hell out of things--the few things I usually buy--before purchasing. I have learned my lesson in the past to carpe diem on anything I KNOW is a real steal. And now that lesson, in this economy, is really fucking me.

Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

A house in Deland, FL. Great prices, low mortgage rates, no state income tax, etc. It seems to be a good time to retire...or semi-retire! B|
