There are a limited number of gambling licenses the state gives out tho. And obviously, Nevada has it, as I am sure many other states do. Its all about the loopholes. The main reason the feds don't like the internet sites is because like most internet transactions, tax is not involved._________________________________________ "People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid." - Kierkegaard
justinb138 0 #10 July 11, 2006 Isn't it just great how gov't spending has gone crazy, we're in a war, people are finding $90,000 in lawmakers' freezers, N. Korea is testing long range missles, and congress is worried about internet gambling, gay marriage, and baseball players on steroids? What the hell do these people actually do on a daily basis? PeteH 0 #20 July 12, 2006 Sad day in the land of the free. I live in controlled environment of Europe, so I can still keep playing if it ever passes. Bad thing is that probably half of the fish will be gone and it's harder for me to make money playing poker.

I mean if online poker players are willing to pay 17% credit card interest on the big blinds, the rest of us NEED DUMBASSES like them to keep gambling! Whew! For a while there, I felt like a retard paying the $7.00 ATM charge at the Pink Pony last weekend. Now I feel MUCH BETTER.{EDIT: Holy F*CK! How did I get into Speaker's Corner?! rehmwa 2 #22 July 12, 2006 Quote drug laws dui laws prostitution smoking Why do you think dui laws are victimless? I've heard (and not agreed, but at least some thought went into them) concerning the others and those discussions have some basis. But DUI? Drinking is victimless, but driving drunk isn't - it's a terrible choice with horrible potential consequences. Or are you just talking about the ratcheting down of the 'legal limit' to the equivalent of having 2 beers with your pizza??? ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
