To not support same-sex marriage is not to equated with bigotry, or homophobia. If you want to continue to argue that it is, then better get used to Repubs in control of government.

Somehow you feel this is a good thing? Deny rights and benefits that others have just because it makes someone feel uncomfortable? Because it goes against their religious beliefs? It is hatred. It is bigotry. It is wrong. It is un American. Thank god is there to save the country from all these gay people that just want happy lives together.

With policies like banning the gay marriage and such, the limit beetwen Taliban and the U.S government gets more and more blurry.
Do you all republican guys really want to live in a theocracy? I know it is not what it is now, but you guys are surely walking towards it very fast.
Think that it is know your homosexual neighbourg who gets discriminated, but next time it could be you beer drinkers, or a new taxation in condoms to discourage its use, or more wars in the name of god. etc, etc.

Karl Rove announced this morning that Bush will be trying to add a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage.

And we have four more years with this guy now. Bush will continue to treat the Constitution as a rough draft.

The benefits of marriage, rights of medical coverage, etc., can be extended to same-sex unions without changing the definition of marriage.

In my opinion, government's attempt to change the definition of marriage is a violation of the separation of church and state. The states choose to recognize marriages performed by churches (et al), but the actual "benefits" are sealed by a certificate issued by the local government.

Having said that, there were 11 ballot measures on November 2nd in which the people in those states have spoken. Is it homophobia? I don't know. What I do know is that a considerably small segment of the population has been try to force "normality" about their lifestyle on the masses and they needed to be "put back in their place" per se. I couldn't care less about who marries whom, but I don't need the highlights slapped in my face all the time. In fact, all the wailing about it has pissed me off to the point that if I was "king" I would deny such benefits until the temper tantrums stopped (not unlike a parent denying something to their screaming kid, to which I would follow with a spanking, but I think a lot of people would like that, so, you know... ).

Any single-white-hetero-males out there want to join me in a rant about inequality...
