Favorite Movie?????

Recommended Posts

A few of my faves that I can think of:
Stargate
The Haunting (the original one in b&w)
Mallrats(saw it about a month ago, and LOVED it)
Two Moon Junction
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
And I'm starting to think I'm the only person in the world that didn't like The Matrix. Maybe if I understood it, I would've liked it.

Stanley Kubrick films (all)
Monty Python films (all)
National Lampoon films (most)
Funny nobody here has mentioned any skydiving movies. I think that most are pretty lame. They either get the technical stuff all wrong or the plot is shit. Even so, if I’m board I will watch Dropzone or Terminal Velocity if it is on one of the premium channels I get.

I already had my top 10 list done on my website, so this was easy:
Bladerunner
Clockwork Orange
Cool Hand Luke
The Shawshank Redemption
Fantasia
Fantastic Planet
Apocalypse Now
Pulp Fiction
The Blues Brothers
Goldfinger (or other James Bond movies)
We have a lot of other "Top 5" and "Top 10" lists on our website, including lots of amusing (to us at least) misc. categories.

Mike,
Yea, I have noticed that. In fact I didn't go searching for a quote to put on my signature. I was listening to Momentary Lapse of Reason, and thought, "Hey, that sounds like something a skydiver would say." Turns out it was in a song called Learning to Fly.
Incidentally, since this thread is about movies, has anyone seen the movie More?

I like how in almost all of the movies Tarentino has done, he plays a minor role that usually gets killed off towards the beginning of the movie.

Stephen King has minor roles in most of his movies too. Though I don't think he ever killed himself off in one. He was absolutely hilarious in Creepshow.

I love most of the movies mentioned above, and I don't think I'd be able to make even a top five list of my favorites.
What older movies do people like (i.e., before 1970)??
I loved pretty much everything that Humphrey Bogart was ever in. Casa Blanca ruled. So did Treasure of Sierra Madre.
Sometimes I'm in the mood for renting a good old John Wayne movie. Anyone here ever seen Big Jake? or Cowboys? or The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence (sp?) with John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart?

The Big Blue (Luc Besson)
Bladerunner (Riddley Scott)
Highlander (only the first one, the rest were pants)
Wings of Desire (Wim Wenders - soooo much better than City of Angels)
Dumb and Dumber (even funnier than Cutaway!)
Snatch (even better than Lock Stock)
