Should I cut my hair???

Recommended Posts

I think cutting 5 inches would be great. As everyone has already said, it grows back & it will still be long. That's awesome you're donating it to a great cause.B|

I had long hair, like down to my waist, for 12 years. Cut it 3 years ago. It's so much less of a hassle. That being said, I think everyone looks better with long hair.

Long hair is definitely a hassle...no doubt about that!! But it looks so good and after a while, you just get used to handling it.

However....just for one day...I'd love to shave my head and make a skydive with just my goggles....no knots...no nothing...O, how I wish...just for one day.

Ivan you don't know what she is going through because she has had long hair all her life. When I was in my sophmore year of high school back in the days, most of my freinds were headbangers. One of them even had hair way past his shoulders and all of them had hair way longer than mine. I decided to try to grow my hair I got it to the point where it was 6 inches long. I hated it, it was in the way and was driving me crazy. I finally came to the realization that I couldn't take it anymore and went back to my shaved head.
Women don't have this problem. Long hair for them was always there because it has to be, because they are women. So they don't suffer as much because of it. They got used to it at a very young age.

I actually cut my hair the day before my first tandem. No particular correlation, just worked out that way. Very glad I've never had to experience the knots I would from freefall, though.

The knots suck!!>:(...I always get them no matter what..I have no choice but to wear a helmet to keep my hair under control, but it still creeps in the sides and up by my forehead...

But then I take my hair down and love it...call me selfish....but I love long, luscious, sexy long hair;)

Ok lets put it this way. Most little girls have no choice on the matter. They get used to it when they are young. As they get older they get more attention because of it and they realize they like the attention they are getting.
I bet if you to a poll you would find that most women will cut their hair to a relatively short style after they have been married for years and have come to the realization that they no longer have to attract males. So you see they always have a choice (after adolesence) but choices come with consequences.

hey just got back and found me on page 6...

sorry about the tongue hanging out, i think my silly photos always turn out better than a cheesy smile.

zenister, are you staying out of trouble??? ca and I worry about you sometimes....

i think i'll keep the long hair at least until Rantoul. maybe i can auction off who gets to cut 10 inches off... give that money to locks with the goldielocks...

That is an incredibly great idea! As long as you get instructions on any special treatment (e.g. "wash immediately before" or "don't throw in the disposal"). You'll get a whole lot more than just the auction price donated too, I'll bet!

Great idea. :)

I went with my original instinct off of the title, which was "NOOOOOOOO!!!!!". But then I saw the "locks of love" option and I think that's a very cool idea.

Just looking at the pics, even 10" won't be too drastic for you and they would go to a very worthy cause.

Come to think of it, you mind donating some of that to me? :S

i think the auction is a great idea ... 10 inches really wont affect your hair that much...although the shorter of the crew may have to jump to reach it ;)

pretty well, life has been occasionally boring of late and that is a recipe for trouble, but not as much as having a redhead come live with me will be :)

shes doing much the same thing going to donate some of her flaming glory to the "locks of love program...

10 inches will make your hair about alittle longer than shoulder length. It will still be full and gorgeous. It will provide some little bald kid with some beautiful hair during a very scary and possibly final period of their life. (Have you ever heard one little kid make fun of another, for a life threatening illness? I have__NOT FUNNY__)
If you want to do this at the WFFC, I can probably line up a hairstylist, and some publicity for the cause. Let me know if I can help you at all with this.

that sounds like a great idea! I was just thinking of having whoever bid the most get to use the scissors and chop the ponytail. I'd worry about evening it out later...
i never use a stylist, i just have cajones or my roommate get the scissors and hack away at it. it would be cool if publicity helped raise more money...

what were you thinkin?

thanks!

Why dont you have it layered? It'd give it some body and you still have the lovely length that it is.

I made a huge mistake last year. I cut all my hair off, and it was halfway down my back! I cut it so it sat just below my ears. I am now in the painful process of growing it all back again.

Don't bother me, I'm living happily ever after

Let me know that you are seriously interested in this. I will set up a stylist when I go to Rantoul next week. I'll make sure that the information gets put into some of our publicity handouts, so the press can come and be a part of it, and maybe we can mention it at manifest as the week goes on, to see if there are any others who may be interested in doing the same thing(Right lisa?) I will PM you with my cell phone number so that you can contact me during the WFFC.

I think the fact that you are looking into donating your hair is a great idea. If you are going to chop it go for something fun, you seem like you have the attitude to pull off the fun hair and if it is done right it will not look bad like you think!!! But my hair short is more work than it is long so you might want to keep that in mind as well. Go for it! I wish I were so brave!!! :)

take the time to appreciate the people around you.
