GARYC24 3 #1 April 14, 2004 I got 2 hardboiled eggs. After I eat them I'm not gonna eat until Friday maybe even Sat. morning! I think I can handle it and it will be more of a good thing than bad to do so. This is not a "fast" (I wouldn't be boasting..i mean posting if it was) How long has anyone here gone with nothing but water?
Slappie 9 #2 April 14, 2004 I think this has something to do with no food left in the house. I kind of remember you posting awhile back you got laid-off. Ya know ramen soups and totinos pizzas are cheap and you can live on them if you have too. I still eat them regularily just because I like them. But with the IRS fixing to crawl up my ass I may be eating them because they'll be all I can afford!! As for your question, it've gone 5 days without food, had water, beer and a soda. As far as solid protein it was about 5 days. "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." lawrocket 3 #4 April 14, 2004 I've gone 4 days without food in the past. I was pretty sick and couldn't keep anything down. But, I was drinking carbonated sodas, so I was receiving some calories. My wife is hotter than your wife.
Casie 0 #5 April 14, 2004 I've never done this. I think you're gonna be feeling like crap and light headed after 2 days of this Are you active? SarahC07 0 #7 April 14, 2004 No food, only water for a full 24 hours.... I might try it again, just to see how it goes and how I feel... even though I'm pretty sure it won't be enjoyable Sarah
Nightingale 0 #8 April 14, 2004 if you're trying to lose weight, that's not the way to go about it. If you severely restrict your food intake like that, your body goes into starvation mode, lowers metabolism, and tries to conserve fat stores.
Conundrum 1 #9 April 14, 2004 I start to feel sick and tired if I dont eat for a long time. Like.... a few hours. lol
GARYC24 3 #10 April 14, 2004 I know it's not the right way. This is my idea of a jump start on burning fat. Also, would be a good cleaning-out of toxins. I will work-out ALOT during theses days..I work out everyday already. After 2 days..I'll eat the right foods, portions, etc. A combination of Body FOR Life & Atkins. I have seen somone who has changed alot in 3-weeks..(I was completely amazed!).If I don't see a BIG decrease in the size of my gut.in 3 weeks!.I'm gonna apply at Extreme Makeover! hahaha

If you severely restrict your food intake like that, your body goes into starvation mode, lowers metabolism, and tries to conserve fat stores. True true true! Personally I've gone over 4 days without eating food, only drinking water. It's not very good for you and when you start eating again your body stores ever bit of it so ultimately you gain weight. You'd be better off just eating at least something very very small 3 times a day. Even if it's an apple or half a power bar. You'll get better results and your body wont go into freak out mode. Casch 0 #12 April 14, 2004 You should really rethink this. By starving yourself, your body is basically gonna get pissed off at you, and start holding on to every last calorie you eat. It's a horrible way to jumpstart a diet. If you want to do this, think about buying some slimfast shakes, and drink those in lew of actual meals. That way you still get the minimum number of calories you need, and the nutrients your body needs to survive. I've lost 30lbs so far with slimfast, and I don't exercise much. Please rethink this starvation diet, it really doesn't work and does your body much more harm than good!
headoverheels 291 #13 April 14, 2004 My business parter fasted on a couple of different occasions, but I think he was still consuming fruit juice. I think he did a 5 day and a 7 day. His usual weight is about 140, 5'6", so he doesn't carry a lot to live off of.
GARYC24 3 #14 April 14, 2004 Okay, I will. But, think I'l just call it 'fast' instead. Then keep up eating the right food, fat, carb, etc small portion afterwards.. I going for the "miracle' change! ha ha I want to see transformed body in short as time as others have done, and someone I know. THANKS for response to all. PS..I just ate my last hardboiled egg. skipro101 0 #16 April 14, 2004 CKD C-K-D.com This diet was developed in the 80s for bodybuilders and has been evolving ever since. Atkins is basicly a derivitive of this diet except atkins isnt for bodybuilders and doesnt require you to work out. Be warned..ckd is not for the new dieter. If you dont workout the right way on days 12 and 3, your glycogen stores will not be depleted enough for the 6-9thousand caloric day starting thursday night, which will cause you to get fatter. so be carefull. good luck. oh, by the way, I was 5"9 265lbs in 10th grade. Im now 20yrs old, 6'2 210 of mostly muscle. Its a long road, but its worth it.
jtval 0 #17 April 14, 2004 gary, if you do the starvation method it will backfire. when your body goes with out food it goes into starvation mode and stores any bit of caloric intake as fat. sure while you are not easting you will be forcved to burn more then you take in, bu twhen you start eating again your body will go to survival mode and store all the food as fat until you start eating normally again then. then your body will go into normal function. by that time you will have stored all that you lost and maybe more. dont go insane while you arent eating. best way to do so is to 1-eat slower(chew your food). it tastes better and it gives your mind time to realize the your stomach is full. 2-drink water before you eat. its pretty damn heavy and will help you fell full . I have to slow down whenI eat. I am usually in such a rush that I wolf down the food,. I dont feel satisfied until I can tsit and eat without being rushed hope everything works for yaMy photos My Videos
Aviatrr 0 #18 April 14, 2004 Don't try to starve yourself for several days...it won't do what you think it will. When you resume eating, your body will think that it's the only food it's gonna get, and will immediately store it as fat. In the meantime, your muscle will be eaten away to power your body. Try this instead of "fasting" for several days...do twice as long, but limit yourself to, say, 800-1000 calories a day. A good way to do it is to go buy boneless, skinless chicken, and throw 'em in the oven. Each piece is roughly 200-250 calories, mostly protein and no carbs. Eat 4 pieces a day. Drink lots of water. You really should take in SOME carbs, though not a large amount... Also, if you plan on working out while you're starving yourself, you're in for a world of hurt. Your body will do things to you that you never imagined. If you're lucky, you'll just be very dizzy much of the time when working hard. You won't have enough energy to get all you can out of your workouts. You may even pass out. Mike
TheBachelor 4 #19 April 15, 2004 The longest I've tried is 36 hours. I could have made it longer, but was going to the gym and I didn't want to pass out. Casch 0 #23 April 16, 2004 Awesome, I'm really really glad you decided to do the slimfast thing. You would have had a helluva time working out with no energy to use. You probably would have ended up passing out. Remember, food is your best friend. Just remember to give your friend some space and he will treat you right

If you severely restrict your food intake like that, your body goes into starvation mode, lowers metabolism, and tries to conserve fat stores. Bingo! Gotta eat lots of small meals or snacks like vegetables, fruit, etc. Keep munchin just try cutting out sweets and soda at first. You'd be surprised at how much weight you will loose if you just stop drinkin pop and eatin candy. My roomie lost 15 pounds in a few months with a little working out during the week. I lost about 10 pounds in a month last year for lent cuttin out sweets and pop. If you drink 2 cans of pop a day, you will put on 15 pounds in a year from just the pop. Assuming you don't exercise regularly, etc.Tunnel Pink Mafia Delegate www.TunnelPinkMafia.com
Freefalloz 0 #25 April 17, 2004 I'm on my 3rd day of a fast and am hungry! I'm using a 5 day fasting program called Ultimate Fasting Cleanse by Natures Secret. They give you 5 different supplements including Super Nutrition tablets. This is my first time trying such a severe detox and I plan on seeing it through. But, I agree with the other posters that starvation is not a way to lose weight and am happy to hear your eating. I've done a 21 day detox that worked well and allowed me to eat throughout and loose weight as well. Although, I'm committed to following through the 5 days, I'm don't know if I'll do this again! My husband is cooking dinner and it smells really good. Just in time for my supplements, yummy! Good Luck. Celeine
