Zenister 0 #33 August 12, 2004 again...if you pay attention to their efforts since they parted you can tell where most of the creative/musical influence for the Wall and Darkside came from... listen to the crap Waters makes without Gilmour, compared to what Gilmour has made without Waters.... edit: there is a reason Waters was only given rights to the Wall and The Final Cut... supposedly the fight over the Wall could/should have been uglier than it was.. lyrics and concept were all Waters but the the music and arrangements was mostly Gilmour who at that point didnt want to fight with it anymore...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. I like Piper at the Gates of Dawn for a couple of tracks, and find most people into PF have not heard it.......... Syd Barrets only album he worked on and he WAS Pink Floyd originally....... I like Meddle (sp) for a few tracks that sound amazing on a decent system........ Atom Heart Mother - some cool tracks....... Dark Side of the moon - enough said! The Wall - again, enough said....... but after that I found PF lacked anything they had previously..... I went to the concert at Earls Court (the one after the seating collapse!), and they did some tracks from the latter days, but they went back to the older stuff because that was so much better............. But where else is 30 year old music sounding so good ?... standing the test of time ?Most Floyd albums you can just put it on and leave it alone.... let it play . I like that, that you can't just stop the music in the middle of the album. It's all one long song to me....and it's a man answering... must be someone besides your wife is there to answer.He keeps hanging up. AudreyRowe 0 #50 August 13, 2004 From the documentary I saw apparently Syd was really fat and looked totally different too and at first none of them recognised him. I was at the Earls court concert the night the seating collapsed - we got tickets for another night and they turned out to be really good seats - I thought it was the best concert I have ever been to.
