skydog 2 #1 November 24, 2004 As I read the forums now it seems that the usual first reply to a question is "do a search". So my question is simple: Will the forums become redundant when every question has been answered before? and if so when? BrynJourney not destination..... larsrulz 0 #4 November 24, 2004 I predict that at 2215 on October 9th, 2008, all possible questions will have been asked, so HH can just install a bot which can direct all questions to previous answers. ChasingBlueSky 0 #6 November 24, 2004 Quote Will the forums become redundant when every question has been answered before? Isn't this a repost? Every forum that I have ever been on has plenty of redundancy. Usually it is from a new user that hasn't bothered to do a search. With this sport and the amount of questions it brings for new jumpers, you will see a lot of repeat questions and arguments on here...and it was that way on rec.skydiving as well. It's always only a matter of time before another AAD, RSL, wingloading, etc thread pops up._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... Remster 24 #8 November 24, 2004 Baaaawaaaaahaaaa Quade... The Bonfire isnt, and wont be redundant. As its a place to socialize, it doesnt really matter that issues have been discussed. As for the topical forums, well, some issues have been beaten to death SEVERAL times... but there will always be new products, techniques, issues to discuss IMO...Remster

Girlfalldown 0 #10 November 24, 2004 Yes. They already have but we don't care! New posters come around all the time so the same questions may be asked but the answers are always new and different. -------------- (Do not, I repeat DO NOT, take my posts seriously.) pleifer 0 #12 November 24, 2004 Ok, here is smart ass answer number two the probability is given by The t-distribution, with n degrees of freedom, is given by the equation: f(t) = [ ((n + 1)/2) (1 + x^2 / n)^(-n/2 - 1/2) ] / [ (n/2) (PI n) ] So there is your formula to tell you with 95% confidence when the posts will become redundant... don't ask for a further explanation, cuz, I dislike statistics _________________________________________ The Angel of Duh has spoke

Zoter 0 #18 November 24, 2004 Equipment changes......all the time Techniques change .....all the time The experience pool grows bigger......all the time Attitudes change.......sometimes When I first came to these forums....I had the same questions that many had asked before and yet alot of people are quite prepared to pitch an answer knowing full well a search will 'probably' answer the question. THAT attitude is what keeps people coming back to the forums.... Nothing wrong with getting the 'latest' views on common questions anyways.....keeps things fresh

tunaplanet 0 #20 November 25, 2004 They already are. Too many people use them to gain attention. They ask questions that... a) ...put the spotlight on them. b) ...they already know the answer to. c) ...they don't really care how others answer. d) ...every other person on the planet knows except for them.
