psipike02 0 #28 August 7, 2006 Yep. Did one the summer before I started AFF in 2004. One was all I needed to get me motivated to get licensed myself. I just didn't know all the resources and "how to's" of getting licensed and everything.Puttin' some stank on it. ----Hellfish #707----

brianfry713 0 #32 August 7, 2006 Not yet, I was a little over 200 lbs. when I started jumping and didn't want to pay the $1/lb. extra surcharge (not that AFF was any cheaper). I'll have to do one before I can get a TI rating.
steveorino 7 #33 August 7, 2006 After over 1000 jumps I had to go as a tandem passenger for the first time to get my tandem instructor ticket. Now THAT was scary! steveOrino
DontPanic 0 #34 August 7, 2006 I did my first tandem around jump 160 as a practice dummy. I thought I'd find it boring, but I was surprised at how much fun I had.
jimmytavino 16 #35 August 7, 2006 started out with 5 static lines,, then went immediately into 5 second delays, 10 second delays etc... At the time a minumum of 5 SL jumps were needed,,, which demonstrated stability and on #'s 3 4 and 5, the ability to pull a "dummy ripcord".... So I did the minimum and was cleared for "skydiving, instead of just parachuting... That was about 10 years before tandem jumping and was nearly back in the days before Tandem Containers.....Which was another name for "piggyback rigs"... So never made a tandem til last summer.... I could not jump cause of a shoulder dislocation and so a friend who is a trusted TM invited me to go on a tandem with him... "well" I thought, " I absolutely WILL".....It was cool, though I was kinda nervous when he popped the lateral connections, after opening... We had a lengthly discussion Under canopyeveryone should try it..... I recomend to many people that doing a tandem 1st is a good idea but not neccesary as was my case.
