As a woman, I think it's a pretty damned good idea.

Anyone else have an opinion?

I agree

How does that saying go... "Speak softly and carry a big gun" or something like that?? or the one from the Italian Job "Trust everyone, just don't trust the devil inside."

I trust very, very few (like 2) people, I used to trust a lot more, but I got burned so many times. I learned my lessons the hard way.

Disagree. Develop life skills in determining who to trust

As women we tend to give our trust to men who are polite, courteous
and pay us compliments ...and we judge them as 'good' men. They
may very well be, but all they have really demonstrated is good manners
(odds are, they've just learned how to get laid ;) )

We need to learn how to determine character
and integrity. Do they keep their word, are they honest,
fair and considerate of others. People will tell us everything
need to make determinations of character and integrity ...if we
but learn to listen.

I agree, but there are ways to protect yourself that doesn't involve shutting yourself into your house and talking to no one.

:)

Relax, you can die if you mess up, but it will probably not be by bullet.

I'm a BIG, TOUGH BIGWAY FORMATION SKYDIVER! What are you?

Absolutely agree! I couldn’t imagine living a life of without trusting anyone. Then again the question was posed “as a woman” which I am not. But from the guys point of view I am polite all the time and it’s pretty arrogant when women think it’s cause I want to sleep with them, sometimes I want to sleep their friends, kidding, well mostly kidding:P! But honestly, learning who to trust is important. So we get burned, it happens, we should treat it as a lesson and learn from it. Trusting no one is just quitting isn’t it?

I'd rather trust people and be burned than walk through life not trusting anyone.:|

I agree... I would rather go through life under the belief that most people can be trusted and occasionally be disappointed then to go through life believing that no one can be trusted and always be disappointed...

and frankly I know I can be trusted... :P

Now Sartre... You're not living up to your ideas. You trusted me, without hesitation, before we ever met. And I have no doubt you would do it again.

And you were right. I am trustworthy. :)

I start with trusting all (even the hitch-hikers - yes... I know how "dangerours" that could be.... blah blah blah) :o. But I listen to people and to my gut and learn how much to trust.

I RELY on no-one but myself.

No fun going through life as you described... ;)

Oh Oh what movie ?

I can't tell you. But if you really want to know, then put two crossed strips of masking tape on your window and a grumpy black man will show up tonight to give you a hint.:D

Jennr8r is right. You're not as black and white as all that. ;) Besides, you trust a lot of people every time you jump--the person who packs for you, the pilot who gets you to altitude, the other people who are on your load, your coaches. . . . I suspect that you meant trust in a more relational sense, but if you didn't trust people in the first place it would be really hard to be a skydiver. Caution is good, and I'd say you're more cautious than distrustful.
