Your Perfect Pizza

Recommended Posts

So I made some pizzas last night on the barbecue. Freaking awesome. Here is mine:

1) Crust halfway between thin crust and thick crust
2) Pizza sauce base, but with drizzled pesto
3) Mozzarella
4) Italian Sausage
5) Pepperoni
6) Prosciutto
7) Crumbled Feta cheese
8) Parmesan

To drink - Firestone Double Barrel Ale.

Man, it was AWESOME!

Tell me your DREAM PIZZA!!!

I always make my own pizza. I've never tried it on the BBQ though! That sounds really interesting.

I like to make my dough with Italian seasoning baked right into it. Then instead of red sauce I use Pesto sauce. Mozzarella, provolone and Parmesan cheese. Artichoke hearts sliced, chicken breast in small chunks, mushrooms, onion, green peppers, sun dried tomatoes.
Bake it in a hot over on a stone.

The place where my daughter works makes an awesome pizza. I've been ordering:

Spinach
Mushrooms
Ham
Artichoke

If they offered feta, I'd get that too. Yummy!

what you do is rol out the dough like normal. then you toss it on the grill and let it cook on one side. Then you take it off the grill and add toppings to the side that is alread cooked. Then you cooke it on the other side over lower heat so that the toppings cook and the cheese melts.

It really adds a smoky character to it. And your crust recipe sounds great.

Chicago thin crust, from almost anywhere except Uno.
I prefer Italian sausage and pepperoni.
Giordano's is as close as we can get in Orlando.
Effing place is a long drive though....but worth it!
B|
and they have a nice cold Stella collection there as well.;)

I'm kinda boring.... I usually prefer a slice of cheese pizza with a big fresh salad on the side.... and a glass (or three) of Chardonnay.

I never thought about making one on the barbie though. I'll have to try that sometime.

Can you post your crust recipe for the rest of us foodies?
Thanks in advance.

Lazy Moon is the best I've found in Orlando. The atmosphere is lousy, but the pizza is pretty good. I'm not sure why anyone needs a thirty inch pizza, but it's pretty tasty.

For those that like the thin crust pizza and making your own, try using Flat Out Bread as the crust. You should be able to find it in your local big box grocers. Using Flat Out Orignal, my favorite is spinah/artichoke spread with mozz cheese topping.

Or Frank's Buffalo Sandwich Sauce mixed with ranch dressing, topped with cubed chicken and mozz.

If I'm ordering from a real pizza place:
-Original crust, with cheese, pepperoni, green olives and onions.

Mmmm....Pizza!

Certainly! This is for the bread machine, which I use all the time to make all my dough. (I hardly ever make bread in it.)

1 2/3 cup warm water
2 TBS. sugar
2 TBS. dry milk
2 TBS. oil
1 tsp. salt
4 1/2 cup bread flour
1 TBS Italian seasoning
2 tsp. yeast

Throw it all in the bread machine and set it to quick dough. My machine makes it in about 45 minutes. This recipe will make two large pizzas or you can half it to make one.
