Which altimeter do you use (or is next on your wish list) & why? Me, I'm not looking to buy any--just curious as to which types folks like.

Neptune...
Gives tons of info...jump numbers, ff times for jumps, all jump summary, time, date, temp, plus it's user friendly.

Two neptunes (one wrist and one helmet) and a protrack (helmet) .. Love having the neptune as a visual, been jumping it as a visual since around jump 40, also done 3 night jumps with it and love the backlight. Kinda nice that it keeps logs too.

If not jumping the neptune for some strange reason I also have (and like) my Alti-2 Galaxy, easy to read, glow in the dark face.

I still use the trusty Altimaster II and an original Dytter if I want an audible along. Should I upgrade? heh....

Galaxy AltimasterIII for visual. I prefer to have a mechanical alti as a primary.

Protrack - Makes nice beeping sounds - Secondary

Suunto Vector - My everyday wrist watch that has a really nice alti function - Tertiary

Eyes - Kinda tells me the trees are getting bigger - The whole enchilada

I use a Npetune on 99% of my jumps and a chest mount Alti-2 Galaxy on the rest. I've got nothing against the Galaxy, I used it for a couple hundred jumps with no issues, I'm just a digital kind of guy.

AltimasterIII on the hand and Alti 2 on the chest when berlly flying.(Share it with other flyers ) and
Protrack on my fullface ( A3 ) .

It is almost the same witch alt you us ,they are all nice....But use it ,dont get complaysent and get to low..The ground remember you and are waiting..

I've got a FT-50 I think it is. I love it....use a protrac also. I bought a new galaxy and didn't like it....so I gave it to the wife .

Is it worth it spending a few more bucks to get the alti galaxy extreme? I don't know if I ever gonna get it wet, but just in case...

If you've got the money, sure why not? If you happen to get it wet no worries right? I personally, being broke, wouldn't spend the $$......but then again I'd feel like an a$$ if it got jacked up by getting wet .

Not many have heard of them yet (freefall accessories), but they do a good job too, been out for a few years. And you can get it with the cool SkyFest logo or for that matter any logo.

Altimaster 2. It works, I own it, and it's been reliable for a long dang time.

I have an original Steve Snyder Altimaster (40 years old) that is still bang on accurate that I use on every jump. If serious relative work is planned, I also use a Dytter.

Now the very 'original' Altimaster was a very thick altimeter, as thick as actual aircraft altimeters. Is yours this; or is yours a 2nd gen that was the thin version?

It's small, light, easy to read, and comfortable to wear. The logging feature is nice, too.

Suunto X-lander.
Easy to use and easy to read.
In the future I will by myself an Viso from L&B but the Suunto will do fine for the moment.
