Your Photos of the Past Year

Recommended Posts

I was looking for photography threads of people sharing their shots, but most of the ones I saw were from 3+ years ago, so I thought I'd create another, as I'm getting back into photography again and it's always rad to see others stuff.

Just got my sigma 10-20mm in the mail today, haven't got to use it yet... But here are some shots taken from 2010 - Now to get it started.

This photo was taken on the sunset jump at Skydive Midwest on Oct 21, 2010...after I helped them with tandem packing for the day, for 157 tandems put up !

Thanks :) The child is my niece.

Wow, that sunset is amazing. I'm a big fan of silhouette shots and sunsets. Extremely crisp and noise free too.[/reply

Yes they are...couldn't ask for more beautifully surreal & peaceful surroundings.....in both sunsets & a child's face !

Lately I've been using a Canon G10 for just about everything. The Nikon SLR and all the big lenses stay home. The Canon is a joy for street shots, especially when traveling to places where big "professional" cameras can really draw unwanted attention to you. Just how the shots stand up to "professional" scrutiny I don't know, but for my purposes (sharing with family and friends) they are just fine. Now might be the time to look at the little Sony Alpha nex5.

Wow, these photos ( attach's) actually made me

gasp when I opened them...and they say beauty is in

the eye of the beholder...well, the eye's behind the

camera capturing these point & shoots, most

certainly have a knack for seeing really beauty !

Excellent photos :)

The last is my lovely wife finishing a half marathon last weekend. No that wasn't her real time, she started in a late wave.

Absolutely beautiful...

Photography has certainly given me a greater appreciation and perspective on life...

I'm happy to see you getting back into it.

May I suggest not viewing to many photos of other people's work...You have a unique outlook on life and I'd hope to see that expressed in your photography without external influence...
Your secrets are the true reflection of who you really are...

Thanks. Yeah, photography is the one thing that can actually keep me going, and keep me somewhat sane. I rely heavily on nature typically. I'm a storm chaser, so weather is also a big part of what I love. I've been pretty toned down on spontanious people portraits and stuff, I feel really awkward when pointing a camera at a person, hah.

Most of these were shot by dudes, aren't they ?

Evidently, anyone who would ever say men are superficial, hasn't seen photos like these before... taken by guys ...excellent job guys ;)
