Borj-e Milad is Iran's tallest tower. Built in Tehran, Iran, it stands 435 meters (1427 ft) high from base to tip of antenna. The head consists of a large pod with 12 floors, the roof of which is at 315 m (1034 ft). Below this is a staircase and elevators to reach the area.

Milad tower is part of The Tehran International Trade and Convention Center. Scheduled for completion in late 2007, the project includes the Milad telecommunication tower offering restaurants at the top with spectacular views of Tehran, a five-star hotel, a convention center, a world trade center, and an IT park (to be completed by March 2007). The complex seeks to respond to the needs of business in the globalized world of the 21st century by offering facilities combining trade, information, communication, convention and accommodation all in one place.

The complex features a parking area of 27,000 square meters, a large computer and telecommunication unit, a cultural and scientific unit, a commercial transaction center, a temporary showroom for exhibiting products, a specialized library, an exhibition hall and an administrative unit. Milad Tower is also claimed to be the fourth tallest free standing structure in the world, and the first considering the vast functional structure on its top and the only tower with an octagonal base, symbolizing traditional Persian architecture. The Milad Tower is predicted to replace the long-time symbol of Tehran, the Azadi Tower.

Whats with the book...(is that a Qu'ran?? ) in pic 223297

That would be reassuring on the exit point...!
9 cell canopy and skydiving rig as well.....OK...maybe a verse from the Qu'ran couldnt hurt....;)

Looks like a really nice object....although getting there/staying there would probably be more dangerous than the jump itself !

doesn't look like a reserve... Well I guess 9cell reserves are not THAT common.. Might exist though..

Interesting question indeed, what canopy is used ?

That is an interesting question indeed. Also would be interesting to know more details of the jump, was it slider up or slider down ? Going HH would suggest maybe a slider down jump but then again on one of the packing pics you can see packers pulling up the slider. And nice touch is of course the use of a sail slider but I guess it goes in line with the rest of the gear. :)

Well, i'm not a baser neither do i have any knowledge of the types of canopies used in Iran, but the canopy looks like a SkyMaster (students canopry) to me...

I *think* the only 9 cell reserve is/was a Falcon, because it is the only 9 cell canopy that has been thoroughly drop tested and TSO'd....but I am not sure if it is true. FYI: the source --- I read this information on their website when researching the canopy before buying one used.
Rigger, Skydiver, BASE Jumper, Retired TM

This photo is funny. The ramp crew is in a green hard hat. He's at the highest object in the city...what's going to fall on top of his head?:P He has no rig and is clipped in to no protection. But he's holding on to the jumper and helping to keep him stable...I bet his real job is to kick that jumper in the ass off the plank if he pusses out.
Get in - Get off - Get away....repeat as neccessary

The jumper on the ramp in the pic. holding his PC hand-held is so scared. It looks in the pic. like he even forgot to take off his Green Beret before he exits.
Looks high enough for a slider-up. Just another dirty high puller. ...;)

It might be just the way the picture was taken or resized, but on the very last one, it seems like the right brakeline is twisted way to hell, no?
But who cares when you have a reserve on your back...:P

I'd love to jump it from the deck underneath the exit point and cruise past the steel! Way to pioneer in Iran! From the third pic it looks like freestowed lines in the pack tray.... old school, (how I started) I love it!!!!!

Hi Behzad
Thanks for joining this forum and offering to answer some questions.
Could you please fill in your profile form? That would answer some of the first questions.
Is this guy the only BASE jumper in Iran?
Where did he hear about BASE and how did he get into it?

I have had mixed feelings about this. On the one hand I think what he did is incredible, BASE is the last sport I expected to see in a country such as Iran, and on the other hand there are quite a few things he is doing wrong and he is very likely to at least hurt himself.

There is quite a lot of information available on the internet and on this website that would help remedy some of the basic problems. I have tons of documentation I will gladly Email you if you PM me your address.

Hello Iran, hello Behzad,

Welcome to base. For some reasons, it is not the 1st world having those nice towers and buildings available for jumping, but nations like Malaysia, China, and now Iran!

I tried to make it to your country after the WAG 97 in Turkey, as I met the Iranian accuracy team there. However, the visa application never worked out. If, however, a base event would / could be held, I would feel more then happy to go. Hmm, does that sound to much like inviting myself? :$ But, then, what else to do with such a nice object. :)
