So, me and my wife and whole heard of our friends got together this weekend and ended up shooting some fireworks. One of the guys bought one of those 'morters' with the 'handgrenade' looking fireworks that you put in the tube, then light. Well, this was supposed to be 'new and improved' where essentially the 'shells' were doubled. The first two went off without a hitch, the other 16 were too heavy and didn't have enough propulsion to get far off the ground. Fortunately, the guy doing the igniting (and in the pics) was on a 15 day leave of service in Iraq, so I guess he is used to these low-level explosions. That one statement, 'it's all about me', I think is the biggest problem with society in general. Everyone thinks about themselves first, and others as a passing thought. A successful and (generally) happy marriage REQUIRES considering the emotional well-being of the OTHER person FIRST. You cannot have two selfish people in a relationship. Well, you can, but it won't last long...even if it does last long, it won't be a happy relationship. I saw this movie when it was out in the theaters. The skydiving parts were okay, but I have a real hard time when a 5k jump lasts 3 or 4 minutes...it's just too hard to get past. I agree that Matt M looked pretty wild, and ripped in that movie. He makes you want to go to the gym and lift some weights. Unlike others on the thread, I'm going to go ahead and agree that this movie fell into the 'better than I expected' categorey. I seen a LOT worse movies than this, and at least a couple of them centered around skydiving. I spent 2 dollars and caught a matinee, and I feel I got my money's worth. You can't head toward a movie like that expecting to get acting like 'A Few Good Men' or any kind of realism. You go to a movie like that expecing nothing more than some action and entertainment. If you expected more, you only have yourself to blame. Now, for recent movies that I expected more out of, The Punisher - that was a SUPER STINK FEST. Real MST3K fodder. I use the free version of ad-aware. Unless you bought the the full version, it doesn't have any startup processes, so doubtful that this is the issue. Is surfing the web the ONLY time that it locks up? I would agree with some other posts that it might be some other software that is causing the issue, or possible hardware drivers. If you have another machine (or friend with internet access), you might check for issues with some of the main hardware components in your machine (mainboard, etc) on vendor websites. Especially if the mainboard has a lot of 'built-in' things like NIC, Sound, Video, etc. You also might need to do a BIOS upgrade, but I don't really recommend doing it yourself if you haven't done it before. If you mess that up, it's quite possible that your machine will be shot. Matt A well-informed person is somebody who has the same views and opinions as yours.

Sorry to hear about your news, hang in there. You have to take care of yourself and you only get one noggin, so be careful. Learn from someone who is 'out' currently, don't do it. Or at leastl, especially if you have gear hang on to it, take some time to think it over. My last jump was in the fall of '02 and I miss it sorely. Even my wife who didn't care for me skydiving wishes I would have held on to my stuff to go back one day. I thought I could not miss it, but that is not the case. If you are one of those folks that got the skydiving hooks in you on your first jump (I'm that person too), maybe take some time off, but don't quit. Quitting won't help. That's a thought. While I really enjoy my job, I quite frequently volunteer to drive my wife to the dr or dentist. Every now and then I find it a convenient way of making myself take some time off.
