  1. No one is allowed to jump without shoes at the local DZ as there is a catch point between the step and the wheel where a toe could get caught and therefore ripped off. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  2. My mate has just bought the same camera and it came with a 18-55mm lens and a 0.5 adapter which screws on the front to widen the angle. I fear his photos will not be grand. Any comments on this set up? 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  3. In NZ we can operate VFR. As long as the plane can get to jump height legally we can jump assuming the airspace is fully controlled and we have ATC clearance. This had huge benefits when running a skydiving business. You can get some fantastic visuals at times. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  4. It's a cloudy day where I jump here in NZ and we have 13 tandems to do. Due to the fact that we operate in controlled airspace the cloud isn't an issue. How many other countries allow jumping through cloud? 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

  6. Mate, you've been jumping longer than you've been married and had kids. I assume that you entered into both activities with your eyes open. Therefore it's up to you what you do. Before I got married I'd been jumping for 16 years and I told my lady to never use the 'it's me or jumping' line because the answer is obvious. That still stands today. Your wife knew that you were a jumper before you got married, and was probably proud of the fact, so whats changed! I've got a 5 year old boy and I love him to bits. Because of him I've gone back to school and I'll finish my masters this year. This is because I want to do the best for him and be able to provide. I'm going to finish as a full time tandem instructor at the end of the season downunder and get a job. I've just bought a base rig and I'm going to a local bridge in the next few days. I'll keep doing tandems and camera as a weekend warrior. I want to learn how to freefly and I want a smaller main. I want to watch my boy grow up. I don't want to die a long lingering death such as I witnessed recently with a friend conking out with motor neuron disease. I guess my point is that living is the biggest cause of death and you can choose to waste away before your time or live a full life until it ends. How you define 'a full life' is up to you as the individual. I know my path at this point in time. Good luck in finding yours and I hope your decision is the right one. 9. Recently listed on Trademe which is New Zealands ebay. Student Telesis with a PD 260 main. Indentifying number '16' and K.S.S embroided on harness. Other photos show cypres and FXC AADs. Reserve price was US$400 but auction was withdrawn after questions asked about authenticity. If the gear can be identified will be happy to chase it up at this end. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=138947466 Edited to add web page but don't know how to make clicky. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

  11. I had a problem when I ordered the wrong size filter for my lens and found that Waycool lived up to their name in sorting it out. Customer service is tops. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  12. I tore my ACL in the mid 90s, have never had reconstructive surgery and have done 2500 jumps since then without issue. Work on leglifts with a weight on your ankles - a couple of socks full of sand - while you are watching tv, and don't get paranoid. Mind you I still wear a fibreglass brace when I'm skiing. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.

  16. Interesting that there was no canopy check before the cutaway was initiated. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  17. Love my canopy but have had the same issue with the slider stops on more than 1 occasion. It causes the slider to hold up and then descend unevenly leading to linetwists. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
  18. Just a drogue chucker and from NZ not the US but the suit that I have is hanging in fine after 800 jumps. 2 wrongs don't make a right - but 3 lefts do.
