  1. I'm wondering whether a legal eagle could weigh in on licensing. AFAIK Chicago has a licensing program already but almost never issues licenses except for city councilmen and other servants of the city and state. Does the ruling put any language toward what would be an arbitrary or capricious licensing system? Large registration fees or "education" requirements, etc... I don't doubt the creativity of the Chicago city council. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  2. Fixed that for you My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  3. About fricken time. I'm tired of paying for fat people twice over -- first in fare vs fuel cost and second when they spill over the armrest into my seat. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  4. Tax the hell out of gasoline and spend the money on services to taxpayers. Arabs and oil companies will take less profit, you'll pay more out of pocket but you'll get much of it back in govt services. It's the way they do it in Europe, and it works just fine. 5. Some people combine them but as a newcomer you can expect to spin up and chop a lot. Is that worth $500 to you? That's how much you can find a beat-up old square for. You might end up spending a fair amount on reserve repacks anyway. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  6. I feel bad for all the kids whose parents don't make them learn spanish and force them to speak english at home when most of their community interactions are in spanish. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  7. Private individuals don't have the right to imprison each other, manage each others' fertility or seize each others' children. I thought the whole anarchy bit lost currency in the early 20th century. How would a libertarian do it? My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. 8. Relative terms are probably meaningless for many/most babies born with fetal alcohol syndrome, addicted to hard drugs, or otherwise having birth complications / defects owing to their parents' choices. Should a parent have the right to poison their bodies and unborn children at once? Or ought the state intervene? My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. 9. Yeah. If we allowed blacks and women (and gays!) to vote, why not goats? My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  10. Yeah I emailed Jeff and this is what he showed me. You can tell they moved the bottom surface forward of the knee, and the leading edge above the shoulder. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  11. It's a cash flow technique more than anything else, which is why it gets used when the budget is overdue. Why don't we just postpone infrastructure maintenance indefinitely? We'll be reducing spending all the way! My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  12. "Saving" us as much money as going on strike one day a month. It's completely disingenuous to pass it off as a savings. It's a loss. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  13. Great, a whole weekend gosh a whole week to run afoul of the law & free of regulation! Sounds about as bright as these email campaigns that try to get everybody to skip buying gas for a day. How about not giving away gas guzzler universal "free" healthcare plans? My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?

  15. I had ants coming in through a wall last year and I noted that spiders had set up just a few inches off the trail on either side. Ants were going straight out through the a clearing between the spiderwebs. I meditated on the situation for a minute and then wiped the middle zone between the webs with bleach. 8 hours later, the spider webs were full of ants :) My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. 16. Well on their website they say they do offer court-admissible tests but they need to establish the participants' identities and maintain a chain of custody. So you have to go into their facilities instead of mailing in a kit. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?

  18. Faith is more than a good inference based on the available evidence. Many religious types, I'd hazard most these days, would be offended at the principle that they might switch faiths upon making a different reading of the stars. 19. Atheist is a very broad term. how about the other way around, is X acceptable or not acceptable for theists? What about people who drive colorful automobiles vs grayscale automobiles? What about off-white and cream shades, do those ones count as grayscale or colorful? It's difficult to say anything for everyone who might fall into one category or another. Let's call the whole thing off. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  20. The particulars of what they believe vs don't believe are irrelevant, because the process they used to deduce their beliefs is flawed. The reason that the Taliban is / are still around is the sympathy they get from the people they live amongst. It's the same reason this girl died. edit: grammar My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?

  23. Are you looking at seasonally adjusted numbers? AFAIK February is usually a small uptick from Jan but insignificant compared with Spring / Summer figures, and YOY we're still way down. More on February existing home sales My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Lebowski?
  24. The bubble mentality is diminished. Now that enough people have lost their shirts, or are in the process of doing so, the whole "it can only appreciate" mentality is bust. It'll take at least a couple years of growth before random losers will go all in on depreciating real assets in droves. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. 25. I've got one and it's fabulous. Bumped it up to 2gb ram & put ubuntu on it. It's very lightweight, small, performs decently for web browsing, im, email, etc, and the keyboard is just big enough that I can touch-type on it. The downsides I can think of: small screen, 7 inches is really small. A 9 inch model will be coming out soon tho. Battery life is so-so, about 3 hours on a full charge. I was kinda hoping it'd have better battery life, and Asus has said they're working on that for future models. Small amount of memory: I upgraded mine to 2gb when I bought it. Although Asus originally said that'd break the warranty, they changed their minds about that fortunately. It's great now I can use skype to make international calls wherever there is internet instead of screwing around with calling cards. So if you can hold out a little while you might benefit as Asus comes out with new models in the next few months. Still I thought it was a great deal at $400.
