    A new greenie

He's beautiful!! Congratulations! _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  2. The Ninties and the 2000's have completely changed the culture/counterculture groups of the U.S. The "Hippies" and "yuppies" are now grandparents/great grandparents and totally irrelevant in any ad except for AARP and metamusel and haven't existed as an iconic subcultural group in over twenty to thirty years. The driver of this car is more than likely a representative of someone who listened to "Grunge" as a kid. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  3. Bwahhh hah hah. . . Sorry completely off topic. I just haven't heard him called that in some years. Remember this line? "Ghadaffi Fried Chicken, we do Chicken right . . .OR ELSE!!!!" Oh, the eighties. . . _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  4. but what to do with all the accountants, tax lawyers, and IRS henchmen then? They would dwarf the Occupy Wall Street types. And how do you keep incremental "improvements" from repeating? Or is it enough just to wipe the slate clean once a century? No. They would be needed just as much as now. People will still underpay or overpay. Not all are wage earners and have to pay in April. There is no way the new tax laws are going to be loop-hole free and representation will be needed. There will also those working abroad ect. ect. and business correctly charging taxes and paying them. If anything, the IRS will have to expand due to the extra load from the National Sales Tax. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  5. I don't know if I would consider this another "personality" as a different screen name. His opinions and postings are quite consistant. Starts off with a new name posting a thread that though has an alternative opinion, attempts to support it in a manner that isn't disrespectful or attacking in nature. This usually happens for about three weeks to about a month then it goes downhill as he gets more opinionated as he tries to tell us "how it really is". Then his posts get outlandish and it goes into a downard spiral of outlandish comments and trollish posts with a "you are wrong"statement without supportive details and tells posters that they are (fill in the blank) regardless of the poster's obvious beliefs. Then gets himself banned. It's usually a two month cycle and has been happening for at least nine years or so. Personally, I enjoy the "phase one" of his posts though his ideals is not of my beliefs. Its when it starts his "phase two" that I confirm who he is and his "final phase" where his replies are so out of whack it's a matter of time he's banned. Sometimes I swear he has a playbook opened in which he is following it. He is very consistent and predictable. Welcome back, "TreeTop"!! _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  6. That's like someone posting an article by Rush Limbaugh about democrats and expecting you to take it seriously. Except Rush is a lame joke while Krugman is an economics professor at Princeton who has also had faculty posts at MIT, Stanford and Yale. I notice you had no rebuttal to the content. Yes, he's an economics professor at Princeton, yet his economic views are illogical and Keynsian, but he's still a lame joke. Belonging to the ivory towers of the ivy league doesn't make your views on economics infallible, of which he is an example incarnate. I'll take Milton Friedman, he won a nobel prize which is apparently the end all of credibility debates today. I don't take his content seriously because I don't take him seriously. Krugman has a Nobel also, fyi He writes a opinion column for the NYT. its an academic who hates successful bankers. have you ever found one who doesnt? even in his best years he probably makes about as much as the average 28yr old GS VP and it bothers the hell out of him. after all, he is smart and they aren't. Income should be based on intelligence rather than job description? If that's this guy's case, he got in the long line of work. But he just may find out that intelligence is different from "action" or" common sense" or "level of risk-taking". He just very well might not be able to get that seat in the first place. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  7. This is why I'm not afraid of Big Brother coming. This is just emotional intelligence replaced by socially inept voyers with their algorithms. Look at the NSA now. "Big Brother has your wife's naked pictures!!". That's the threat. You are being spied on by dorks, not scary men in black that knock on your door in the night. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  9. They will find the same thing we already know. Economic shortfalls, subcultural peer groups, insecurity and temperament makes a good candidate for committing crimes. Now, if one actually will do it is another thing. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  10. Yeah, but he's made better products than Martha Stewart. But all seriousness, someone who is laid back and "nice" to his subordinates isn't going to meet deadlines as well as someone who can dole out consequences and show that they are willing to. Not defending him, but you can't expect a saint occupying the top. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

    Fleet Week

  14. Counterintuitive. How can they get into Congress? Their greatest accomplishment was getting liscensed to drive children around. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  15. I suppose the government could send you a renewal notice, like they do for a driver's license. And you get to put one of those cool stamps on her butt. "Hey Jim, check out. . .aww, she renewed in April!" _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln

  17. I trust that you understand the whole "immediate threat" thing. Police snipers also don't shoot first. They are there to shoot if the perp attempts to do something bad. I do know the immediate threat when it comes to public safety. But sometimes they have to take the shot. I believe you see an ability for our forces to make a calculated arrest and extradition. Given resources plus immediate threat he poses; he inspires and promotes acts of violence that have been attempted, this is just not possible. We don't have this luxury. Just as the police don't have with the sniper scenario. Differences of lag times between the two is consequence of the situation, not the ability to make an arrest. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  18. He was a U.S. Citizen once. Is he legally a Yemeni citizen now? Did he ever evoke his U.S citizenship? Also, what is the law have to say to police snipers that have to take the shot? The person has not been arrested yet. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  19. True, but that would be required in those countries. Here in the US, a good though-out protesting doesn't require weapons to create change. Tends to annoy cops to no means. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  20. Again. . . _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  21. Yeah, that's the theoretical argument. In practice that will just never happen. Right, best to just give in without a fight. Well, he's right. In theory weapons will hold back an oppressive govt. But reality says, its not about the guns. I've been to too many shithole third-world countries where everyone has an automatic weapon and they can't stop an oppresive govt or warlord. Truth is, it's about leadership and the ability to motivate a large group of people with said guns. Guns by themselves you got a bunch of civillians with their large cashe rubbing their hands and muttering "c'mon Guv, take my guns". Totally useless for anything but a false sense of security and triumph. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  22. This update sounds more like people worried about her than the original paranoid "cops behaving badly." _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  23. It doesn't work. They have no legal or moral claim on said "spouse". Terrorists tend to work on someone elses behalf/beliefs/causes without permission. Only the taliban occupied Afghanistan, who was only recognized diplomatically by three countries, come close to satisfying this analogy. You are right. We will never get rid of them. Ever. It's like trying to stamp out genetic disorders. This is never an excuse to take their opinions serious enough to consider their demands and threats. They do not work like normal people. Give them an inch they will definitely exploit it. As far as teaching other countries on not tolerating them. . .This is exactly what we have been doing from day one. It's an exceptionally hard mission. Afghans did not tolerate the Taliban or Osama bin laden and Iraqis didn't tolerate terror groups in Iraq. Even when everyone there owns firearms, they still weren't able to. This is what we had to start with. No. We will report up our chain then put a stop to it and/or assist the UN when they try to put a stop to it. Yes. We appear as pirates some of the times, yes, but it's not going to be terrorists that call us out on this. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  24. No, I disagree with his conclusions. I said that his conclusion is not unique. I'm not inferring that I agree with him. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
  25. How will the military industrial complex justify itself if Oceania is not at war? By keeping the peace. War is Peace. Just ask the Ministry of Truth. Love fiction. . .it's credibility, its ability to be used for any other theme other than it's original purpose; say for instance unease about Totalitarism. ect. ect. Oh . . . it's DoublePlusGood the same theme with regards to this topic. Ron Paul has absolutely figured out the purposes behind NewSpeak the 43rd Administration used in its ramp up to Iraq. Yes, he has come to a conclusion that is not unique. But his saying that terrorists attacked us due to occupation is the same as saying that spouse abusers hit their wives for being insolent. A wife doesn't stop the beating by correcting her behaviors. . .we don't stop our process because someone who is not acting in part of a country voices an extreme form of grievance. It takes a certain type of personality to come to terrorism, regardless of culture. These people were not defending anything. They are crazy fucked-up people that found a reason to act out. By Ron Paul making such statement, he essentially validated the terrorists' cause. Maybe not in some eyes, but in their eyes. It's a good thing he is considered the village idiot. _____________________________ "The trouble with quotes on the internet is that you can never know if they are genuine" - Abraham Lincoln
