  1. I lived in TX for a little while...maybe it rubbed off on me. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  2. Hmm...no wonder I haven't seen you at the DZ lately! There are a few others I post on. Some work related, a knife forum, a gun forum...you know, fun stuff!
  3. I just got my butt in the air again Sunday after about 8 months of working two jobs and barely even seeing the DZ. Got my recurrency training from Glen Bangs (Who better to do it?!) and it took about a half hour of going over gear, procedure, malfunctions, etc. Had I scheduled it through manifest I would have had to pay. I got lucky that Glen happened to be there while I was whining about getting current again and said he had time and would do it right then.
  4. Actually Steve is THE person to talk to about RW jumps here at CK. You know those old guys...nothing better to do all day than sit at the DZ. Really though, he's a great guy to jump with I turn 30 in a few days so I guess this will be my b'day weekend. I'll probably stop by even if the weather isn't jumpable, just to hang out and drown my twenties. And if that doesn't happen I always have next weekend...there's gotta be something good about having a b'day mid week! There are always people at CK and I don't know about other DZs but here you don't need to know anyone. Its a great place and no doubt you'll have a blast. BettyAnn Getting married? 5. Hey! It was great seeing all of you again and meeting you Amanda & Jason! Maybe next time we can jump together. Wait...are we allowed to actually jump during a CK boogie?? I guess it does occasionally happen! Great pics Chris! Looks like you guys kinds had some fun! Big mistake not coming out Skolls! Crappy weather just means that the party starts early! You better get your butt out for Memorial Day weekend if not sooner! Oh and Liz...if you had started that "preference" thread before this weekend...there's no way I would have had the guts to wear that outfit!! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  6. Hey Dave...you mean one of these? I love my HAK and its on me all the time. I can go one better than a neck knife that swings around though...I keep this baby "close to my heart" its clipped to my bra. Always right where I want it and it gets used for everything. Its made to fit your hand and they make really small sizes too. They actually already had a bunch in my size ready to go and I have some SMALL fingers. (Ring finger isn't even a 5) Good one for Morgan to have on her too! This is the Hybrid model there are others to choose from like the straight that are pretty simple to keep sharpened. 7. Hey, did you ever find one of these? I bought a few of them as gifts and ended up with a couple extras. I have them listed on Ebay right now. One is grey-blue & navy and the other is black & white. The black & white one even has a matching scarf. I have a navy & white set and people ask me about them all the time. BettyAnn Getting married? 8. Thank you everyone! Dave - The movies were great and gave me a few ideas, thanks! Jim - If you do weddings for free, as I started out doing, that's great but I'm assuming you have other sources of income. (It sounds like you only marry skydivers anyway) This is my job/business first and a fun service I can do for skydivers second. I'm sure the guy who runs our loft does a few reserves as favors but even he charges for his services. As do the video guys, coaches and so on. I don't have much info about my skydiving services on my site at all. It simply says that it is something that I offer. It also says to contact me for any services other than those listed. I'm at Cross Keys and pretty much any skydiver who knows me here knows that its free (they cover my slot) but for any other weddings, this is my business. Hence the skydivers are just paying for my jump but couples who contact me through my business will be paying for my services. All I asked for was a few tips to help create a great ceremony for a couple of friends…I didn’t realize I would get the added bonus of having both myself and my business insulted. Thank you for the tips but please try not to be so quick to judge. Tami - Thanks for all of the info & Great Photo! I'll keep the attire tips in mind. If they decide to get something special made I know Bev made suits for some friends a while back and she's local so that's always an option. Mike & Carolyn I'll probably do something the way you guys did, (Start/jump/finish) if that works for the bride & groom of course! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  9. Thanks for so much info, that helps a LOT! You've actually answered most of my concerns. (plane noise, nervous jitters) Oh and CONGRATULATIONS!!! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  10. Have you ever seen or been in one? I need details! I'm marrying a couple this spring (licensed skydivers) and just had another couple ask me. (First time & doing tandems) Ceremony on the ground before? In the plane? In the air? Any suggestions?? Its not really a "do again" thing so I don't want to be thinking, "Hmm...maybe this will work." 11. Suit yourself. If I wasn't stuck on Philly working I'd be there! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!

  13. I just married a couple this weekend. She's 32, he's 63. They were one of the happiest couples I've seen yet! Go for it! At bare minimum, have fun while it lasts! If it doesn't work, its not because of age, its because of maturity or skydiving or money or a million other things. Age doesn't mean a thing. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!

  16. Anyone ever heard of ParaChi Designs? Anyone own their pants or suits? What do you think of them? I have seen them selling on Ebay and their pants (and prices) look great. I'm just worried about buying something I've never seen in person at all. Are they good materials? Will the butt & knees hold up? I had a not so good experience with another small name maker so as much as I'd like to save some $ I also don't want to go through the 3 months of hassle I went through last time. (And still have no pants) BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  17. Mmm...sushi! Allen & I cleaned up one of those big boats the other night. Not even a piece of rice left. I didn't eat lunch today either so I'm sooo hungry and there's an Awesome sushi place on the way home to! Ooo... BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  18. ShitFace Yep, seriously. It started by one of those silly name calling sessions (dork, goofball, etc) and he called me "Shitface" which wasn't quite what I was expecting so I told him I'd never forget it. Now its HIS name. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  19. Well I guess that's what they have those nice hot showers for then. Mmm, Dave mudwrestling. MMmmm, Dave in the shower. Oh my! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  20. We would never get Allen near the mud, he might get dirty! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  21. Hey, voting ends today! Nola 46% Baby 48% She's adorable! Get back in there and vote! Vote Nola! I'm a sucker for puppy eyes! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  22. I have never heard of anyone actually buying a book to study for the ASVAB. Its kind of like the SATs if you remember them. They test you on different skill areas. (Math, reading, construction, medical, etc) Your scores in the different areas help them decide which job to push you into. There's a qn with pics of different nails and it asked which one was the roofing nail and I didn't know. I remember thinking, I can't tell my grandfather that I didn't know this one. (He owns a roofing company!) I agree completely with the "Don't trust a recruiter" I was married to someone in the Air Force and was already living on base and they STILL tried to talk me into jobs I didn't want. Like I didn't know what they were doing. The lifestyle adjustment is the hardest. Just keep in mind that nothing is personal and they are just doing their job in training you. That helped me. I hated the first 3 weeks but got used to it and actually liked the rest. I'd do it again. I could use to get in shape anyway. Oh yeah, if you don't already run or do sit ups start now. It can only make things easier for you. You will have to keep up with guys 10 years younger than you! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  23. The police were there within a minute of the accident so its all on record. In PA your own ins covers any medical expenses regardless of who is at fault. Pretty stupid huh? I'm already seeing a chiropractor for before so I'll be stopping in to see him. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  24. Dang, you have worse luck than me! At least when I totalled my car last year I got enough out of it for a nice down payment on a new one. I totalled my first car Jan 03 (flipped it on the roof), got rear-ended in my very first brand new car in Sept 03 and now again in July 04. I'm going to just live & work at the DZ so I don't have to drive anywhere. That or I'm just not stopping at red lights anymore because obviously others don't bother to! BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
  25. I’m never driving a car again! I’ll stick to jumping out of planes, its safer! I got rear-ended AGAIN on my way to work this morning! I was sitting at a red light and a teenage girl just runs right into me. My foot slipped off the brake and I hit the guy in front of me. She’s driving a 1980’s boat of a car and his looks like he uses it to play bumper cars. Mine is of course my 1 year old baby that has already been rear-ended once before! Ugh! The girl pulls into the parking lot next to where my car is sitting in the street, opens the door and after hanging up her cell phone looks at me and says (with cell phone in hand) “I don’t know what to do.” So what was the phone call about? I figured she was calling the police or something, not just chatting! I can’t even tell if she was on the phone when she hit me but she obviously wasn’t going to admit to it. She says she has “no idea” how she hit me. At least the guy in front of me was cool about it. He said he’s fine and his car is fine, he just wanted to get to work. We had to search to even find the two small scratches from my front plate on his car, his car is covered in them. Mine has some scratches on the front, not too bad. The back bumper looks like crap. Hopefully that’s all that will need replaced. I just went through this in September! So now I’m sitting here at work. My head is throbbing and my neck is killing me. Looking at my PC makes it worse. I’m waiting for my insurance company to call me back to get an estimate on repairs. At least I know (from experience) that Progressive is quick with claims. Sorry about the long post. I’m just pissed off and in pain so I thought I’d share. BettyAnn Getting married? Check out my website!
