  1. I was visiting someone recently and he almost charliehorsed his calve and started to walk around--gets them often he said. I told him it could be worse; it is considered "normal" to get a charliehorse in the asshole. Seriously. Can you imagine that? I can't. And so that is what I think about now after I get a charliehorse in my calve; I am thankful for it. I mean, at least it is not my asshole; that would really suck. 2. 'mama, you have come a long way, baby! I remember the soon-to-be-divorced woman I met at the DZ when she was even a newer jumper than me and quickly came to knew the woman you became. You have proven to be a fantastic mother, a wonderful person and someone who grows even more beautiful from muddy waters, like a lotus. I will stay tuned to hear what excited new adventures await you.
  3. More like a little more than two months did I "get" that I was "in love", but it has been more than 10 years and we are still best friends and lovers. Our first "date" was at the DZ and I was newly licensed and learning to pack. Back then, a high-performance canopy was not nearly as common as today and I decided to pack his for him.
  4. I would say at least half of the Netflix movies we watch are foreign. I prefer films that must stand on their story and characters alone without the help of many special effects, though special effects have their place, such in Avatar (loved it!) 5. I knew about Hornet's Nest and have it queued for its DVD release. I really enjoyed the Swedish films and learned a while ago about the remake/s--not sure I will watch. I do not mean that to sound snobby or anti-mainstream, but Noomi Rapace is so perfect as Lisbeth and I just do not see Rooney Mara fitting the bill, much less anything else without the inevitable "dumbing down". Dexter

Concur. I was a little "meh" because of Dexter's lack of attention to detail this season, thus (by my estimation) leaving a ton of evidence behind. I admit I am a control freak, perfectionist, neat freak, etc. and Dexter's keen attention to detail and cleanliness has always been like candy to me as a viewer. This season drove me nuts. There were/are far too many amateurish mistakes to make this season "believable". Everyone is capable of mistakes--even Dexter--but to make so many thoughtless, uncalculated, untrained reactionary moves for this character made this season very upsetting to me. As trained as Dexter's brain is to react with careful precision and cover his tracks, it just seemed like I was watching another Dexter this season. Edit to add: Also Dexter's inner monologue was not nearly as funny this season. Though, I do still say "Die. Die." all the time. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  7. I love my teeth/smile. I definitely get complimented on that most, though second would be my hair. I am always surprised when I get the hair compliment--especially from a woman with a thick, luxurious head of hair on her head. Mine is fine, flat and habitually in some sort of ponytail or messy bun. Although, I recently discovered dry shampoo and it is AWESOME! "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  8. First, a public THANK YOU! to Robert for his assistance.
  9. Did all except post pic, because having trouble reducing size so you can still read the error. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  10. Just happened again. (Still no "error" message reported earlier.) This time I clicked for further info and the trojan "Artemis!8B8CD6B37F20" was linked and I clicked it which took me to McAfee which stated "0". Googling now... "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  11. I have a lot less patience than most. Period. Since I did the system restore, it has not come up again, but I do not think it has been long enough. I have rebooted three times today and each time it came up, but I want to say it took about 30 minutes before it did. After the system restore, my "real-time scanning" kept turning off and I would be alerted and turn it back on. Then, after 10 minutes waiting for my computer to shut down on its own, I turned off the battery box and turned it back on a minute later. It did not say the usual "your computer was not shut down properly", but just started normally. This time I logged in to my other user, checked McAfee and all was fine. I have since logged him off and switched back to me.
  12. I do not see where to find what trojan was removed, but I did just restore my system to a week ago. Now my McAfee is installing updates. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  13. I have Windows XP Service Pack 3. I just started getting the "Generic Host Process for Win32 Services" error today. It has caused all sorts of miscellaneous problems. All the answers I Googled seemed old and pertaining to Service Pack 2. No downloads (that I saw) on Microsoft.com to correct error for SP3. My McAffee today has "detected and removed a trojan" twice. Shows my computer secure and a quick scan (full scan just done this past Saturday) have not turned up any problems. Help? "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  14. I love it, too, though I have only seen it (in its entirety) a couple times. I miss Patrick. I am not a one to love a celeb or go bananas when I see one (and I have seen more than a few), but I admit Swazye always brings a smile to my face. 15. I was on the "veterinary track" in college, and even when I switched both majors, it stated that.
  16. Yes, we we had to go out and buy an "old-school" pan, litter and scoop so we could be sure he was peeing after we brought him home. On the plus side, however, we would have never spotted the very tiny trace of blood had it not been for the genie. The clear granules made it obvious, while we could not detect anything in the pan. We knew he still had traces of blood in his urine, however, because every time we would clean the pan, he would use the genie and we could see it. I am so happy to have retired that pan to storage now. I LOVE our CatGenie. Most importantly, I am so happy my precious angel checked out well at his vet appointment yesterday and seems to be steadily returning to normal. Thank goodness we caught it early, as he never showed any signs of pain and was purring even in the ER. Next time I notice him using the restroom more often, I will not hesitate just to take him over to our vet and have him checked out. Unfortunately, it was not until 7 p.m. we discovered the blood. The ER experience was a tough one for me and I am glad it is over. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  17. We took my baby/nine-year-old male cat to the ER this weekend. He had a UTI--no blockage, no stones (they checked for both and also did the blood, IV, etc.) Our bill (payment is expected up front) was $1,050 with a $34 balance when we picked him up. I did not think twice to hand over my card, but I did notice the donation box for those--whatever their situation--who cannot do the same. I donated. While, for me, I would not advocate pet insurance, I did remember this thread (I have an awesome memory) and wanted to reiterate planning in some way, shape or form for these types of things. My advice would be more one of "When in doubt, check it out." My angel seemed to be using his CatGenie more often than usual, but he was otherwise acting normal. It was not until the evening we spotted a very muted pinkish spot in his bowl and--after Googling male cats and the possibilities--we were not going to wait until morning for our regular vet to open. Our regular vet would have charged much less and would have probably gone above and beyond hours, if necessary, for much less as well. My further advice would be to just go pay the $30'ish visit fee with your regular vet if you notice a change--however small--in your pet's behavior. If God forbid it is something serious, you will certainly save money and have even more peace of mind (we would have felt a LOT more comfortable with our regular, beloved, vet than the ER, even though the ER vet and staff were very nice). 18. All my best, Wendy. Our weekend began with a trip Friday night to the ER vet; thankfully, my precious angel seems to be on the mend now. I will keep yours in my thoughts and send all best I have. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  19. No idea, but if you find yourself in the market, I have had a Bialetti Moka Express for more than a year now and I LOVE it. When I was in the market for an espresso-maker I was looking for high-end and just happened to see this little guy nearby for $30. So cute! So, I decided to give him a whirl, and am still so happy I did. Super-easy, no big thingie on my beautiful countertops, and no washing; I just rinse thoroughly with water and set out to dry until next use.
  20. Or that. Many fucking bitches exhibit signs of psychosis; I still vote mentally ill, though without leniency. Wendy, I thought of you today; I received Red Dawn via Netflix--finally queued it. Will let you know if they are freedom fighters or terrorists. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  21. I have never seen the forementioned Lilo & Stitch, but I loved the design of Toothless whatever the inspiration.
  22. Clearly, then, there is no room for discussion. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  23. That_is_interesting. I almost commented initially about a few things I would have tweaked about the storyline, but I am surprised to learn the writers "whipped the storyline up" so quickly. Given they had to use the majority of the artwork previously designed, was the resemblance to Stitch intentional or serendipitous? I LOVED the design of Toothless, btw.
