  1. This was the first one that came to mind: Goldfinger--Just Like Heaven I love too many ska band covers to count/name them all. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  2. Foolish! In the time it took you to read the first book, you could have watched all three movies and then had a nap. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  3. I just love him so much, and since I only get to see him two-to-three times a year, admittedly I always put a lot of thought into getting him the best gift ever--one that puts the rest to shame and reminds him often how much he loves his Auntie Carrie. I did not even know Lego made a camera; I was going to get him a "grownup one" before I Googled. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  4. I recently bought my four-year-old godson a Lego digital camera which continues to be a big hit.
  5. I really enjoyed The Switch. It has its faults and needed more Juliette Lewis and Jeff Goldblum, but I liked it. Sidenote: I have a girl crush on Juliette Lewis She is always fantasticly funny and seeing her pop up in any film anywhere puts a smile on my face. I just love her.
  6. I caught video of this today via the news and just skimmed this thread. I was never bullied physically or via any other means, however, my position is: Ignoring abuse one-way-or-the-other is never the best option. You can play smart, but you must play if you are being played with to such an extent. It boils down to the most effective method of response to the given stimulus. Typically the kind of person who seeks to bully is going to be empowered by the perceived weakness of those they bully. Ignoring the situation might seem like the more noble response to me and the next sane person, but to the bully it corroborates their initial perception and thus encourages their deluded behavior. 7. Shame. All I can think of is the Rush Hour app I have on my new iPhone. Apparently I am an "expert", but it is easy for a mild OCD'er like me: The red car does not belong. Get the red car out. And so I get the red car out every time in near-perfect number of moves. And when I do, music plays and all is right in the world again. And I am happy... And then I hit "next" and the red car is back. And, again, I must get the red car out. I love the game, except for me, the pink car will always be the one that does not belong. I hate pink. But, I only win if I get the red car out, so I get the red car out. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  8. You know, I was ambivalent for a long time before, but I am really starting to like you.

  10. +1000 I LOVE audiobooks. You can also download them from iTunes to your iPhone. I plug a cord from my phone to my car stereo and play them. SO good!
  11. You can't afford me. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  12. I would sooner suck the McDonald's door handle than eat there. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  13. I can't prove it, either, but I am pretty sure I never get sick because I drink massive amounts of pinot noir. My theory is the alcohol kills the bad stuff from the inside out and the resveratrol and antioxidants take care of the repair. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  14. Me neither--must sit, refuse to hover. But, I carry a pack of organic, flushable sanitizing wipes in my bag and wipe my cheeks with that after standing up, getting situated, and then flushing with the bottom of my shoe as I elbow the door open and quickly get far away from the aerating germs of the flushing toilet. I vacilate between then washing my hands and using the paper towel to open the bathroom door or just using my hand sanitizer (also kept in my enormous bag) after I have completely exited all handled-facilities. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  15. I figure most ill people could not care less, and thus I utilize the sanitizer wipes to wipe the handles of my shopping cart, as well as the seat where I place my resusable grocery bags (which I also regularly sanitize), on top of which I stick my bag. I also sanitize the bottom and handles of my bag (purse) before I bring it in the house and shoes are not usually permitted. I am not worried about the "everyday fecal matter", so much as the one spore of something that gets somewhere that will make us--or our pets--violently ill. Krisanne never gets sick; neither do I. I am allergic to my pets and pollen (I live in Florida; pollen is everywhere on everything now). I get enough exposure to these things and other germs just going about a normal day to build immunity, but I do not lay my trust at the mercy of "what will be, will be" and think little-to-no precautions are necessary for the obvious germ-traps. 17. So, I had my first question today and called Apple customer service. I got right through to a representative (after simply repeating "representative" twice) and the rep was so upbeat and polite. I wondered what the "+" meant in the upper-right corner of a "FREE" app as some of the free apps had one and others did not. I clicked and read everything there was to read and did not see anything regarding. I do not like to agree to anything, much less install something, if I am not aware of all terms and conditions so I called... FYI, it means the app is only "free" to download for a limited time and is otherwise a paid-for app.
  18. Yes, it also has Google maps which my husband uses often on his iPhone 4. I moved my Maps app a couple screens over. By far the easiest/most obvious smart-phone I have ever used. I am not a techie, but if I were telling a techie, "this should be here, and if I want to do this, I should just be able to press this", then techie got it right for me. I admit I have had to consult the manual for other smart-phones for one-thing or another that was made far more difficult than need be, but the iPhone is marvelous. MARVELOUS! 19. I really love my new iPhone 4. I really, really do. I cannot help myself; I must play with it all the time. Ironically, that is exactly what I was afraid might happen. It is just_so_good. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  20. Is it a big deal to wipe your computer clean and re-load from backups? I recently had something similar (no idea how, as I am super-cautious) that re-directed in many ways, including clicking on a secure link from a Google search and being re-directed to another site every time. I paid a computer geek $100, dropped my tower off to him at 8 a.m. on a Friday and picked it up at 5 p.m. same day. It was squeaky-clean with everything reloaded on it as I previously had it. Well-worth the $100 and he responded to my email questions over the weekend. I just worked from my laptop for the day, so I did not lose work time. Since then, I added Malewarebytes to my security and I run a full scan daily (I am now paranoid), in addition to my regular McAfee scans and cleans. I also switched my browser to delete everything upon exit, which is nice since I never remembered to do that before. If you have whatever I had, I would skip the security help (I spent several calls, with several remotely-accessed McAfee security guys and the problem kept coming back) and just wipe your computer clean. 21. To my surprise, I really enjoyed Zombieland. It is the only zombie-movie I have seen, but I loved it. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
  22. Nothing wrong with that. I did not realize until I spoke to a couple people how "lucky" I was. I feel like everyone else I know (including my husband) has had their iPhone forever. Until now, I have always elected for the best "free" phone when I was eligible for an upgrade. I have always valued calls/service/coverage more than apps & extras. I still do not have a value for a smartphone as a "time-saver" or "makes-work-easier", but I had definitely noticed several things I_want_that can all be received via the iPhone, so I decided to join "everyone else I know" and get a techie-gadget-thingie that does not help me swim in the ocean any longer, play with my furry babies any better or read a book any faster. These are the things I love and value. But, I have to say so far I LOVE it! It is super-easy to use and so sleek & pretty.
  23. I am posting for a friend, as I know many of you love your iPhones and apps. I was hoping someone might save me the time as I have only had my iPhone one day and have no need for this, but a dear friend of mine is looking for ways to cut back and asked me about an app he had heard about: He has Verizon and said he heard about an app for Droid (wondered if there were such for the iPhone, too) on Verizon that one could download from a third party that allowed someone without any other form of internet access to plug their phone in to their unconnected laptop/notebook and access the internet under the same terms of "unlimited web & email" that one pays for, for any smartphone--in this case, for the iPhone or Droid (preferably iPhone). In other words, he does not want to pay for internet access (except what is included in his phone plan) since he pays for "unlimited web & email" in the plan for the phone, but be able to surf the web and access email on the laptop instead of the phone, so long as the two are connected. I am not the person who knows these kinds of things, but really want to help out my friend who has fallen on some rough times. Anyone? Thank you, in advance, for your help.
  24. Congratulations! Near-perfect privacy.
  25. It does. My current LG does, too. I think most newer phones do. But, one of the selections I had to check yes/no to was if I wanted to add unlimited video/text messaging for $5/mo or pay per message. I elected to save the $5. I do not send/receive video or text very often. "Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin
