  1. The DZ I work at has a 9 hole and 18 hole right next to the airfield. Myself and most of the guys I work with play, youd be suprised how hard golf is. The runway ends at the edge of the course so we always take off over the players, who by now have gotten used to us. We did have a student land in trees next to one of the tees. Whilst we were getting him out the Pro who we all know was teeing off with one of his students. After giving us grief for putting one of our students in a tree, he promptly hooked his ball off the fairway much to our amusement. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  2. Here are some pics of my HC30 mounted in the D Box on my FTP. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  3. I dont know what you guys think or if anyone can offer real experience, but my line of thinking goes like this. If I was producing footage that was going to be used for broadcast (uncompressed), then I would invest in a three chip camera. If I am producing footage that will then be compressed to MPEG and burned to DVD, the degradation in quality negates the need for a 3 chip camera. This thought process allowed me to upgrade from film to digital (EOS500 to EOS10D ) These are just my thoughts does anyone have any thoughts?? By the way, I use a HC30 and I cant tell the difference on DVD between that and a PC330. I know the 330 is not 3 chip but it does have a Megapixel sensor which the HC 30 doesn't. 4. Check out the threads on DBoxes for the HC30/40. I bought one from Bonehead 2 weeks ago whilst I was in Elsinore and have just fitted it, it rocks. Once fitted and foamed you can drop the camera in and take it out real easy. I will post some pics tommorow night. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

  8. I have a HC30E which is the same size as the 40. I have 2 setups one is a FTP with the HC30E and Digital stills top mounted side by side, this is for tandems, FS and paying shoots. The other is the HC30E side mounted on a protec, for AFF, student jumps and FF. You can see both setups here , there are a couple of changes to these pics I now have a D Box for the HC30 and the 300D is now a 20D. 9. Any idea where else I can pick up one or these remotes?? I am in Elsinore till friday, then back to Germany. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  10. Fortunately my CCI Mark Bayda, is the head of the panel and has worked hard on developing the new system, it was he that gave the seminar at the AGM. As far as I believe CCI's will be asked to submit names of those they feel qualify for CP1. CP2 will be given to those that have completed PST selection. There will be a grace period for people to qualify prior to the system becoming compulsory. The above is accurate to the best of my knowledge but I will confirm it with Mark and post asap. 11. Two days, 1 breakfast, 24 half litre bottles of 1664, and spent the best part of £200 Not to mention falling asleep in the Snooty Fox I reckon that adds up to a good weekend. Just need to make sure I am awake at 4am tomorrow when i get picked up to go to Elsinore
  12. Id love to go with a a fixed focal length, but I am bound by finances at the moment. I have used the Tokina before and have found it to be a great lense, and am happy to go with it or something similar for the time being. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  13. We have 2 turbine Islander A/C and are located at Bad Lipspringe which is 450KM from Ramstien all the staff at the DZ are British. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  14. I have just got a 10D and am looking to get a lense for it. I am thinking of a Tokina/Tamron or Sigma 19 - 35mm. I will be in Elsinore from 25th Jan till 4th Feb and would like to take advantage of the exchange rate :-) Are there any good camera shops in the area?? Quade, Lew any ideas?? I have to make do with Elsinore on the 25th for 10 days, 7 hours in the tunnel at Perris and 30 or so jumps (courtesy of HM) :-( Looks like there is a crowd of DZ.commers gonna be there, I reckon we could RV at Pauls stand after the meeting, I'll be there with a daysack full of 1664 first come first served (coz I am such a good guy). 22. I have just posted a classified for mine. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  23. I use mine in normal Alti mode. I wear an Alti2 which I use during free fall, then use my Suunto under canopy to set up for landing. I prefer this way, but once I get a Neptune I will stop using both. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  24. Its the same over here. During the Firemans strike we had guys returning from Iraq, deploying on firefighting duty, then returning to Iraqu on another 6 month tour. To top it all the soldiers fighting fires were getting paid less than the striking firemen. Sometimes life as a squaddie sucks, but we cant do anything about that as we are not allowed to strike unlike firemen. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  25. Enjoy my trip to Elsinore in Jan more than I did in 01 (broken a Fib dislocated ankle) Be successfull on my Tandem Course (April 05 hopefully) Shed some lard and be successfull on my AFF cours (TBC) Compete in the UK Artistic Nationals Make 500 jumps this year, making a total of 2000. Perfect my high performance landings. Most importantly To continue to enjoy teaching people to parachute, and progress in the sport. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
