  1. 1. Actually, Rob mentioned a Service Bulletin, then Craig quoted a Safety Notice. Two different things, with different likelyhoods of being passed on to skydivers overseas. 2. The Service Bulletin posted earlier is a different one entirely. C. Brother Wayward's rule of the day... 2. Interesting. Actually thats a "Safety Notice", not a "Service Bulletin". This is the Service Bulletin http://www.apf.asn.au/documents/pdf/Service_Bulletins/thomas-sports-equip/tse197.jpg Makes no mention of the "Three bloke test" C. Brother Wayward's rule of the day... 3. There's 8 advertisements on this page alone. Surely those are paying the way for a failover server... C8 Brother Wayward's rule of the day... "Never ever ever go skydiving without going parachuting immediately afterwards." 100% PURE ADRENALENS
  4. Nothing but unabashed applause from here. Nice to see a manufacturer with the balls to call a schoolyard bully like Fradet out. Expect to see him finding a reason why your rigs are banned in france without a costly, pointless refit... C. Brother Wayward's rule of the day... 7. Well Duh. As it happens, I don't have one of each lying around to check he cards/labels on. Thus the question Again, anyone got an actual online reference I can lookup? C. (Jeeze it's hard to ask a serious question on dropzone.com these days. In fact, it's almost pointless.) Brother Wayward's rule of the day... 11. I'm on the horns of a dilemma. My regular helmet runs HC3s and/or stills. I really like the widescreen I get from the HC3s, but it's just too damn heavy to fun jump, so I'm building up another another rig for everyday use. I tow drouges weekends, and have been using my PC101 for handcam until now, but I'd like to up the product quality with a better camera. I picked up a PC1000 a while back, haven't taken it freefalling yet, but jeeze what a nice camera. The footage I’ve shot on the ground looks great on our big screen, it's natively wide, 3 CMOS, and, well, gorgeous. I've been chasing another one for three months now, but even ebay's slim pickings. I'd like to have a couple of identical cameras and use them for both handcam and on my "fun" helmet. I have the opportunity to pick up a couple of PC350s for a reasonable price, and I know I could shift the 1000. I was thinking of getting another 1000, but I'm not sure that it's built strong enough to use as a handcam longterm. The 350 is stronger, but not natively widescreen. Anyone experienced both and have a strong opinion either way? Should I lose the PC1000 and get 2 PC350’s, or wait and get another PC1000? Thanks Craig. Brother Wayward's rule of the day... 12. I chose the title "Cypres 2 Ground Fire." because the report it references mentions a "Cypres 2 Ground Fire". I didn't use the words "fails self test" or "skydivers jump anyway", because the report doesn't mention if the unit failed a self test or if it was jumped. I does however report that it had been switched on for about 4 hours (without mentioning or suggesting a problem with its self test) and that the rig had been repacked about 5 minutes before the Cypres 2 fired on the ground Clear enough? 13. A discussion of the recent Airtec cypres service bulletin which was prompted by this incident, and possibly also this problem, have led to the following being reported on skysurfer.com.au as happening at Toogoolawah two weeks ago. Cypres 2, 18 months old, had been turned on for about 4 hours. Rig had just been repacked and after about 5 minutes the unit fired on the ground. Airtec notified. Brother Wayward's rule of the day...
