    Texas Tunnel

Flew in it yesterday!! Was told by one of the instructors that It will be open to the public January 15th.
  3. Once...Caught a guy breakin into my truck which was in my garage. Normal people would run when when they saw a shotgun pointed at them but this guy ran straight at me. Needless to say he won't be breaking into any else's house. I do have a concealed permit but don't carry very often. I will also add that i am a retired USMC Master Gunnery Sgt with 4 tours iraq so the choice to eliminate this guy was made #1 because he simply made a bad choice & charged me (or he would still be here) #2 i had a wife & 2 small children in the house & there wasn't a chance in hell he was getting inside that house. Oh & his family filed a wrongful death suit against me but the judged pretty much laughed them out of court.

Indoor skydiving center coming to Austin Austin Business Journal by James Jeffrey, Staff Writer Date: Thursday, July 19, 2012, 1:59pm CDT View photo gallery (2 photos) Austin-based iFLY LLC will build the facility in North Austin’s Austinville retail center. James Jeffrey Staff Writer- Austin Business Journal Email Austin is getting Texas’ first indoor skydiving facility scheduled to open in early 2013. Austin-based iFLY LLC will build the 7,000-square-foot facility in North Austin’s Austinville retail center, on State Highway 183. The building features a 14-foot-diameter vertical wind tunnel capable of generating wind speeds of up to 160 mph that are used for commercial entertainment, and for professional skydiver and military training. Indoor body flight mimics the experience of free fall skydiving without the parachute. The Austin location will be the 24th skydiving facility built by iFLY, which has tunnels operating in nine countries. The manufacturer of vertical wind tunnels was founded in 2006 by world champion skydiver Alan Metni, who serves as CEO. “IFLY Austin will be the model for future franchise locations in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.,” said Chief Marketing Officer Stuart Wallock, adding that the company plans to open 50 new tunnels in the U.S. over the next five years. “We will launch our new flight school programs, photo and video technologies and new operating software applications,” he said. “We also plan on holding world-class competitions for the growing sport of indoor skydiving.” IFLY employs a total of 150 workers, 25 of those at the new Austin facility.
  5. Bingo...I couldn't agree more. I am also a diabetic who has been jumping regularly for 5 years. I have very strict diet & hit the gym 4 days a week. I never jump without gloves, sleeves, pants & full face helmet. Even in southeast Texas in the summer! I check my sugar many times during the day when i'm jumping. Talk to your doctor but it is very very do-able. You just gotta be disciplined. Good luck!!
  6. I don't know which one deported the most but i know none of them have deported enough!!
  7. I hear ya & i couldn't agree more.
  8. Your right it's not a done deal yet. I actually talked to one of the partners at Cedar Park Land LP last night & he said they hope to have the deal finalized by the end of May. I'm like everyone else, so i'll believe it when the fans are turning.
  9. Take this however you want, i'm just passing on the info. I sent an e-mail to the Director of Media Communications for Schlitterbahn and asked him if there was going be a tunnel @ Schlitterbahn Cedar Park & the reply i got was "YES...Skyventure!"

  17. Regulator...I just called a friend of mine who is a Marine Biologist at Tx A&M Galveston. He has been studying marine life in the Gulf of Mexico for 30 years and he said that there are several different types of eels here. He named about 20 different ones. He said you most likely caught a migrating eel heading to the sargaso sea. He also said that he has never heard of a sea snake of any kind in the gulf. I have also been fishing the gulf of mexico from Port o'Connor to Sabine pass for 20 years and have never caught or seen a sea snake or eel get caught but that damn sure doesn't mean it can't be done. You never know what's down there. By the way i jump at spaceland to so hopefully i'll see you out there!! Blue Skies & Good fishing.
  18. I just came back after a car accident induced two year layoff myself. I had to do the ground course and a refresher jump with an instructor. Before the jump we did emergency procedures for a solid hour to. Fun ass jump to!! Now i've made 38 jumps in two months & feel like i got off of student status yesterday. Pretty fun shit this skydiving is!!!
  19. Whether this person said they were psychic or not doesn't really matter. They would still have to investigate no matter who called. Once they found blood on the door and could smell rotting meat in the freezer they didn't have any choice but to do a follow up. Unfortunately the media found out so the frenzy started. I can't tell you how many wild ass goose chases i investigated because of anonymous tips when i was in law enforcement. But you are right about using psychics they are a huge waste of resources.
  20. That's a classic!!! I damn sure don't have any complaints. Got a seriously badass life, wife & kids!! Just put 12 pack of flyin dog in heat beer on ice to!! Hell yeah life rocks now off to the beach!!

  22. I was there saturday and sunday. You are right about the Boyd's for sure. I have a good time everytime i'm there. Even if the weather turns to shit it's still a good time!
  23. I jumped there all weekend and between the announcements and the map of the landing area showing the landing pattern before boarding is a big help (& makes it very clear) for people who don't jump there very often. I saw one person land west when it supposed to be a north pattern and the talk they got was short, sweet & they were done for the day. What a badass weekend it was to!!!
