    Solo 2

i've used optima always on since february and no sign of them wearing out yet. Only about 130 jumps on it though.

    Solo 2

my optima2 is always on and it's on the default settings. I'm not sure you can even set it otherwise. Solo is pretty much the same thing as this.
  3. yeah sorry it was a lapsus by my part, i edited my post to "optimal" as it should have been. :)
  4. Does anyone have experience will 135 sabre2 fit mirage MT? how about optimum 143? Mirage's web page says 143 is extremely tight, but does someone have first hand experience? I bought a M2, and I think that while 150 sabre2 is "optimal" according to them, to me it is quite soft, and 135 would be quite loose.
  5. Have never had a chance to demo a safire, but sabre2 flies really nice and the flare is awesome. I have had two and will likely buy one for the next downsize too. I have no complaints of the openings. It may turn sometimes if you'r not straight in the harness but big deal, they're soft anyway.
  6. Personally I use them every time. I put them on before entering aircraft and take them off after landing. I focus on looking around a lot under canopy. Another canopy shouldn't accidentally get within hearing distance anyway.. Only time I got problems with my ears was when I tried these plugs made of silicone. Foam plugs aren't airproof so I use them.
  7. I wasn't implying it would be an alternative to the OP, I was just saying that if the parameters are the same, pro track should log 3 second delays in student mode.
  8. i run my viso in student mode and it logs 3 sec delays np. Not sure if the parameters are comparable to pro track though.
  9. packing doesn't really make a difference with how it stays on heading, at least not for me. The most important thing is to stay even in the harness especially during the last phase of opening, or it will turn. After 100 jumps on my sabre2 loaded about 1.4, it opens on heading most of the time, at first it tended to turn. Try to keep your eyes on the horizon and focus on your position in the harness.
  10. line trim? If the end cells aren't inflated you can help them with rear risers.
  11. valid point. happened to me too, with sabre 1 170. ^^ With a sabre2 those have always been way over the risers, possibly due the softer opening..? save up some money and go shopping.. I got a few hard openings on my current canopy and they still were softer than standard opening on sabre1 with rolled nose etc..
  12. Do you often deploy on headup or how else is that possible? My lines usually unstow bottom first.
  13. congrats on your first rig. (that's why you posted, right? )
  14. I just removed it myself the other day. It only takes like 10 minutes and you can remove the lid on hypeye connector at the same time, so I see no reason why not to do it neatly. :)
  15. I don't think it's appropriate to make sarcastic jokes on threads created by newbies.
  16. yep my hypeye broke last weekend and I just switched the "power on by lcd" off and it works fine. Although it's quite pain in the ass compared to handyness of hypeye. Talking about cx-155 but i think it's the same thing with 100/105.
  17. Are you serious or just joking around? You do know who John LeBlanc is? that should be so obvious to be sarcasm it doesn't even need a smiley after it imo. :)
  18. Get a velo. Non cross braced are for pussies. You had it perfectly set up for a troll but that post ruined everything. :(
  19. Yeah it's a recommendation by the manufacturer.
  20. Take a vacation and travel somewhere else to jump at winter.
  21. http://tinyurl.com/33rum74 Here you go edit: in other words, yes :)
  22. but the downside is the 8 weeks it's probably going to take to manufacture the rig, and one should take that into account too.
  23. certainly better than buying the whole system new and if your buying something new it's clearly best to be a container. But I still think you get best value for your money by buying good condition used gear for your first rig if you can find one. Depending on how much you jump, it may not be that long a time till you want to downsize again.
  24. +1 to red pinstripes. I like the number 4 best of those. I though would buy red instead of yellow but for some reason I hate yellow... :) its your gear so buy whatever feels like best.
