  1. Just take an envelope, put the money there and write "camera helmet" on it. :P If you buy it in advance you'll find yourself flying it in advance. Better use your jumps developing your flying without distraction of a camera.
  2. the stuff will be cheaper later. I see no reason to "gather pieces" in advance, there may be new stuff coming up making old stuff cheaper.
  3. you could've just read the manual. And the replies here. Like said, it doesn't log speeds for under 20s free fall.
  4. How can you miss this at packing?
  5. I did this on jump ~40. Got myself on diving line twists(user error) for partial collapse around 2300ft, glanced at altimeter and it showed 1800feet so I panic chopped. I guess I had some dumb idea about stability + it was totally unexpected so it took me a while to realize I have to pull both handles.. Woke up when I got belly down and saw the trees look way too big to my taste but luckily the silver went flying at that point. Reserve fully open at around 330feet. Landed in a small blank space in a forest without even a scratch. That was a true near death experience and really changed my attitude to skydiving. Training EP's, bought an AAD and read "canopy and it's pilot" to know how not to partially collapse one's main.. Certainly won't let myself get into that kind of situation again.
  6. My parents had gone to static line course ~18 years before I made my jump, just before I was born. So they really had no big arguments against it. :) My dad acctually got so excited he came with me and completed the course. We both still skydive today, 3 years after the course =) So acctually my first jump was a static line tandem with my mom.. :)
  7. plugs work ok for me too. I use them during the freefall too.
  8. oh yeah it seems to be on the features page.. Didn't find it on the european site. thanks doe these quotes mean you can take 1080/60p unlimited and 240fps(i) for 3 seconds?
  9. would you pay 150e more for the CX155E(CX110 with 16GB internal memory) vs. the CX105E(CX100)? CX105 currently costs 400e in here and CX155 would be 550e pre ordered. Trying to figure out which way to go. 2,7mpix stills wil recording vs 2,3 16GB vs 8GB minimum light 3,3lx vs 5lx 210g vs 280g worth it? May I ask where did you find this info? I cant find anything from their website and it surely would make my decision easier
  10. There may be lower margin of error but the speeds on lighter wingloadings are also much slower which gives you time.. right? I started doing front riser landings on my 170 s2 loaded at 1.23. Yes it recovers kind of fast but it still goes slow after a 90 degree turn so one would have plenty of time to dig out of a corner with breaks..? Or are we just talking about how inexperience generates the risk? I'm still a newbie and am trying to understand why it's so hazardous compared to swooping later on.
  11. You don't need booties to track good, sure they help for some people but you need them. Of course you can track good without booties... But who was talking about tracking? :) Booties add lots of power to legs and that makes a lot of difference when performing an RW jump.
  12. I don't think its a great idea. It's difficult to keep up with others wearing ff-suit while others have fs-suits. And you won't have booties. If you're not gonna do free flying, why buy a free fly suit? I personally have never done fs after student status.. but that's just me. I've been trying to find a cheap fs suit that fits so i could train a bit of that too, but no luck so far..
  13. Plain and simple but I like it.. :) Just got it a week ago..
  14. No consideration needed, just order optima.
  15. If you want a basic audible without logging, Optima would be a good choise. The canopy alarms will come handy if you're interested in canopy piloting. Solo is the same thing without canopy alarms. Both good and reliable. I have a pro track too, logs your jumps etc. Neptune would do it all, so if you want logging and canopy alarms in one package, that would be worth considering.. I personally bought the pro track first and now I bought the optima.. I don't mind having two audibles.
