How can you have a problem with lying? Trump has told over 10 000 documented lies and you still cut him slack! I think it’s extremely hypocritical of you and shows just how right wing biased you are.
  2. Yes. It’s taken a while as being partners ex he knew a lot of the stuff people get asked so it was like playing that prairie dog game where they keep popping up. But everything two factored and sorted out.
  3. https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20200511-how-smart-home-devices-are-being-used-for-domestic-abuse Fascinating article that is very close to my heart. I work with IoT and over the last 3 years have been immersed in the world of domestic violence and stalking due to circumstances at home. I’m fairly tech savvy but made the mistake of allowing the stalker into the house last year (it’s not a relationship we can simply end, due to children and custody). It took 4-5 months before I realised that the cctv system had the default password and as he had seen the unit the nice QR code that allows you to link to the device over internet. So 10 seconds with a smart phone and unfettered access to front and rear of my house. I only found it by luck, I logged in remotely and was locked out by another user accessing the system. Pretty confronting when we realised why he always seemed to know when we were home or not. Especially that the back garden is where we sit and talk and spend time as a couple.

    Q

Obama was a better man. Trump on the other hand has people saying ‘Dear God, please don’t let our President say something really dumb’ So Trumps even got the athiests praying, you included Mark
  5. I don’t see the USA justice system allowing an ex President to serve jail time. I don’t know what if any sanctions against Trump will stick. The financial cost alone of having to protect him in jail and the logistics of it, make it a big problem. But more importantly for the world, let’s hope you guys don’t choose him a second time around.
  6. Last year I learned a lot about the police and my views have changed as a result. My son (18 year old) broke the law. It was a stupid but relatively normal teenage action. Granted my partner and I had warned him numerous times but teenagers know best. Anyway he was arrested and spent 5-6 hours being questioned and was terrified and traumatised. It’s now 2 years since he was arrested and still waiting court, he eventually plead guilty to a charge that is quite serious simply to end the uncertainty and stress and potentially faces a year in prison. A relatively small stupid act has destroyed his life. He’s developed massive anxiety and depression, got his face tattooed because he was scared of looking weak in prison (which he may never go to as it is probably a suspended sentence). I would like to see more social support, recognition of mental health issues for vulnerable people. I don’t know if the USA is worse than here in Aus, I believe it is.
  7. Great post and very well said!
  8. What I find interesting is that as a narcissist type person how Trump has literally got the entire world focussed on HIM. Look back at this forum, we used to have entire threads on war, guns, religion. Mostly arguments would deteriorate to nazi type allegations. Now nothing is spoken about without Trump coming into it. I feel the world has shrunk because of Trump. Intelligent discussion is extremely rare.
  9. What stands out amongst the Trump supporters is the gaping void of anything positive or rational. They will instantly attack if Trump is criticised in any way. However I don’t actually recall any of them providing SPECIFIC positive traits of Trump, or successful outcomes. It’s just ‘you’re a Trump hater...’ We have both been here long enough to remember SC during the first gulf war. The debate then was very different, some defended Bush and his actions, but there was not this attitude of ‘doesn’t matter if he’s never achieved anything, you just hate him’. To be honest I’m tired of it. I’ve deactivated Facebook and should probably step away from dz.com as really it is just a circular argument that goes nowhere. The odd entertainment when Q+ or Q++ (god himself) talks to Ron but that’s about it. I am sick to death of Trump and Corona virus. Let’s have a good old discussion about religion of guns that doesn’t include those two
  10. You really think there are bots on a tiny webpage like speakers corner on dz.com? There’s probably less than 50 active posters in here nowadays, and many of them have met, albeit briefly. I mean I’m from the UK/Australia and I’ve met Bigun, Kallend and Normiss at skydiving events over the years.
  11. I’m going to have a heartattack over this but for once I think people are wrongly accusing him of I’ll intent. Sure is it weird and abnormal to talk to a 10-14 year old like that. While literally a couple means two, many people use it to mean a handful/short time. So his comments were definitely unsavoury and inexcusable. But there are plenty of healthy relationships with large age gaps. Maybe I’m normalised to it, but there is 20+ age gap between my step sister and her husband, married happily for about 40 years. My sisters husband is 15 years older. My brother was 21 when he got married to a 43 year old woman, they were together till she died.
  12. Agreed. I always try and see the good in people and for a long time I defended him. Considering the conversation style of the Trump supporters, it’s no wonder they don’t have a problem with Trumps word salads, they are all very similar.
  13. I think I’ve figured you out. You like Trump a lot. He represents your world view and the reason you don’t have a problem with his racist and misogynistic viewpoints is that they are aligned with your core beliefs. But you’re not stupid and you know that wider society still finds those views to be wrong. So you dress it up and find every excuse you can as to why the ‘other’ candidate is worse than Trump. You use that to rationalise your position. You don’t even have the moral conviction to own your beliefs and viewpoints, at least Ron does that.
  14. Bill is right. His sole aim of posting is to rule people. You’ll never get anywhere trying to get sense out of him. I reckon if you posted a positive about Trump he’d probably find issue with it!
  15. I agree! It’s pretty clear now that it is all about stirring the pot
  16. You’re just a Trump hater! It’s fake news all of it!
  17. I disagree, I think the question is are there still enough crazy Americans to re elect Trump! I’ll be honest, I will not be surprised if he wins again

Do you know why the UK has been so badly hit? My dad is so glad he’s not there right now!
  19. Ah, but you see there is this small town in Alabadeen that goes by that name and people are saying there are no churches...

Sadly I don’t believe he’s trolling. I think he’s a die hard Trump supporter who believes that Hillary runs a child abuse ring in the basement of a pizza place and that the sun shines out of Trumps ass. But as the saying goes, arguing on the internet is like winning the special olympics. Even if you win you’re still retarded. It’s time to stop arguing and start ignoring. I normally enjoy debate, but it’s got to have purpose. Spending pages of posts trying to split hairs so that Trump is right and the media are evil is pointless.

Hanlon's razor is an aphorism "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity", The media aren’t saying he said it with malice, at least not any article I’ve seen. They are saying you’ve got a dumb as a rock President whose too stupid to know better. It must be a scary thing to have the most powerful man in your country, dumber than the average 8 year old

Sadly many sheep like people will blindly follow a leader and that is why it carries such responsibility. You or me spouting off about ‘maybe this would work’ would get little attention, a medical doctor would get far more attention and the president a lot more. People take ‘maybe this would work’ and extrapolate to I’ll give it a go
  23. I don’t really care about others. I was genuinely interested to see if you could apply the same rules to Biden as you do to Trump. Beyond one sarcastic post I’ve genuinely been looking for positives in Trump. Trump sure hasn’t made it easy these last few days! This may go against political correctness, but I’m not all that happy with people in their late seventies running for high office, I wouldn’t be happy with a 21 year old either. It’s an incredibly high stress role and I don’t know how you screen for that. From what I’ve read it appears both candidates are struggling with mental decline. Just to contradict myself I’ve done half Ironman competitions with people in their early to mid seventies who are fitter than I am (mid forties)
