  1. Well, my own DV-camera was stolen a month ago so I dont have one right next to me right now. (These were taken by a friend) There are only three grommets in the "closing flap" of the d-bag , plus the split closing grommet. When making the first stow, I was told to thread the rubberband first through the "split grommet" and then also through the one in the middle of the closing flap. So before making the first stow you thread the rubberband through 2 grommets. In the beginning I was really confused becouse the manual only has pics of the old 4+1 d-bag, but mine had 3+1. I wasnt so sure if the split d-bag design was very clever, but now I am. Its very easy to pack IMO. Im sure you will like the design once you get to pack it. Remember to post pics when you get yours.
  2. At least the main split d-bag is different. (only 3+1 grommets) I guess also some other details. If someone knows more please let me know too..
  3. Most tie-dyed rigs arent that cool IMO, but this one Kicks ass !! Awesome !
  4. At our DZ there is one instructor flying a 120 spectre loading it around 1.7-1.8 He gets long nice swoops..
  5. Thats a nice rig. I haven´t seen those new talons yet at all. How are they ?
  6. Thanks ! You are correct. Since Im pretty light weight, I load it around 1.3 . Like eWave already said, thats normal for your first canopy here. Damn , that last picture is pretty funny .As you can propably see from the pic, I took those pics after spending all my money in the local pub.
  7. Here is my new rig ! Its a G4.1 MT with a 120sqft. Hornet and a 120sqft. Tempo. Its pretty tight since the main is about 135sqft. size because of the logo in the main. anyway, It turned out pretty nice.. Tell me what do you think.
  8. Since you live in London check this German manufator. www.space-monkey.de some of their designs : http://www.space-monkey.de/pages/beispiele.html
  9. Nice one !! The Voodoo is Really a nice rig !! I will PM you my address so you can send me the beer..
  10. I just received a new container (Mirage G4) that is size MT. I have a 120 Hornet in it , but because I have a big Hornet logo sewed in to the canopy its packingvolyme is more like a 135 sqft range. Mirage says a 120 sabre in MT is "tight" . I can assure you that my 120 Hornet is VERY tight. It was really a pain in the ass to pack the canopy first time. I did it 3 days ago and my hands still hurt. Now its not that bad anymore after the closing loop has been stretched and maby the container isnt so stiff from being brand new anymore. But still it is Tight... I get some small wrinkles on the sides of the container and its hard as a rock, but it aint too bad. It actually looks pretty good. I even get the three 1st "loop grommets" lining up and the last one is maby 1cm to the side. The closing loop is a bit longer than mirage suggests but I guess its okay as long as the loop is tight and the grommets line up decently. I guess you have to deside your self if you want to break a sweat everytime you pack your canopy. I yet cant say if my decision to get the MT was good or not. I my self dont mind spending some more time to close the rig, but I am conserned if the container will stretch too much.
  11. During boogies that are ran by our club, everyone that are manifesting have to take a breathalizer test on the first two loads.. But this is only during boogies.
  12. Why would you want to change ? Its still the same canopy... I think PISA is/was really carefull with the wingloading reqommendations on all canopies. They just want to play it safe. If you think you are qualified to land a 120 reserve, I dont see a reason why you could load your canopy a bit more than thay suggest..
  13. How much is a ticket to 4000m / 13500 ?
  14. Thats a sweet rig .. Now you take good care of her
  15. yes.. It was a few days early. I havent yet tried how it fits me because it needs to be assembled first. It should be ready in couple of days. A lot of small improvements in the rig. I cant wait to see how it looks after being packed. I will post pics as soon as I get the rig home..
  16. That might be true. Actually I havent yet jumped the canopy even once. I bought it used. And Im now assembling my rig.. It could be very true that the canopy has sharp slider grommets etc. I will check this out .. Thanks !
  17. On my 1st jump ( IAD ) I loaded my canopy about 0.5. It was a 280 navigator. No problems at all. EDIT: learning to spell english
  18. Not nice things to read.. On the other hand you could see it as a lucky rig : Wont matter how bad you screw up, it saves your life. (none of the rig owners died in this story) Im glad I have an embroided "don´t" - "jinx it" in the handles. Just to remind me not to Jinx my luck.. No bad juju for my rig I hope..
  19. I was wondering has anyone noticed how quickly Hornet line-sets (spectra 825) wear out ? I have a 120 Hornet (year 2002) with 250 jumps. For a canopy that has only 250 on it the lines are pretty worn out. (not that they need changing yet but still) We changed the ends of the steeringlines yesterday ´cause they were already too hairy.. Othervise the canopy is in good condition. BTW. I yesterday recieved my Mirage G4, wich is now with the rigger. I will try to post pics soon.
  20. I have flown the 280 , 240 and 200 as a student.. Very nice student canopy, but I would never buy one personally. Bottom is F-111, and most of all I dont like the line-sets that are Dacron, since they add so much packing volume and they are a pain in the ass to pack.
  21. Sweet !! In a scale from 1 to 10 , How scared were you ? ? Personally Im propably most scared of two-out situations, when comparing to horse-shoes or other mal-funtions. But then again I have never even seen a two-out situation live, so I wouldn´t know how the canopies behave.
  22. In our DZ there is one jumper who jumped about 150 jumps before getting her license..( average here about 50 jumps) I really respect that kind of a persistens...
  23. Yes... I was a bit uncorrect.. Sure people land them intentionally once they are under 2 canopies, but I wouldnt want to think that someone intentionally deploys a bi-plane with landing in mind...
  24. Who would wanna LAND a two-out intentionally ?? I dont belive anyone has done that intentionally, or am I wrong ?
