  1. I don't know anything about the situation, history, or people involved, but I would conclude the same just on general experiences w/ other organizations. Once somebody has been undermined like that it is almost impossible to continue to work effectively in that job. Somebody who would tolerate such second-guessing probably shouldn't be an executive. 2. I didn't tell my parents until after I had made my first tandem, just so my mom wouldn't worry. Wouldn't have changed anything, I'm an adult. Anyway, they've been very supportive. After the first few AFF jumps I had a talk w/ them about not suing if I went in. Told them I was a big boy and knew the risks I was taking and it was my decision to jump. They were cool w/ that too and said they would never sue. They are not really the type, but I knew I'd feel better having the discussion explicitly. I'd done other adventures sports type things (rock climbing, canoeing and kayaking, etc.). "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  3. Manifest is the one person who I think would have to get a W-2. Everyone else could be a 1099 depending on how the business(es) are set up. The devil is in the details. Be interesting to know if anybody had sought a determination. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  4. What about people who work manifest? Ground trainers/helpers? packers and riggers? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  5. that was my first thought.... "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  6. You really need to talk to a professional. Medicaid in my state has an exemption for a primary residence. Not sure if this is true in all states. Medicare is generally not resource dependent. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  7. It's a good thing important rights like free speech are protected by the Supreme Court and not by the legislature, then. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  8. CNN was saying two people were unaccounted for at this time. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  9. It is an instructional rating, it is not the rating of an instructor. A Coach should be considered an apprentice to an instructor. On the two page care I can't remember much if anything that can be signed off by a coach, the 4 page card is a better resource for both instructor and student as it is more comprehensive. A coach really must work under the supervision of an instructor(s) to maintain the quality and standards of information and training. Usually if it's not already on an agenda it's not eligible for discussion but I'll see what the powers that be say. I had the 4 page card and there was still confusion about what a coach could sign off on. I was told only in-air skills on category F-H. It held up my licesne as some of my things were signed off incorrectly and I had to go back and have them signed off by somebody w/ the proper rating. Not that big a deal for me but some clarification would be helpful. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  10. I've been listening to the classics, I belong to a great series. It's called The Namesake Series cassettes, and they send you the works of famous authors done by actors with the same last name. So I've got Denholm Eliot reading TS Eliot, I've got Danny Thomas doing A Child's Christmas In Wales by Dylan Thomas. Next month it's McLean Stevenson reads Robert Louis Stevenson. Treasure Island, I believe. The next one is the complete works of Washington Irving read by somebody called "Dr. J" I believe Marty: That's Julius Irving. ... 15. ummm, maybe you could talk w/ your family member, too? Nah, guess that's too honest and straightforward. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  16. India pulled out of talks on a global climate change accord, citing that they could no longer trust the science in the wake of the glacier error + the leaked e-mails. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  17. You might get a $5-$10 voucher. The lawyers will get about $3 billion. That's what fairness is all about. Angling for and getting are two different things. Probably get a small voucher. At best a month or two of free gym membership, which I don't know if you would want. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  18. d00d...you need to talk to somebody with some letters behind their name. You're sounding really depressed and let's get real, friends can offer support but only a professional can give any significant 'help'. Don't try to weather this storm solo! I second this. I needed a ton of help to get through my divorce. Get what you need. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

  22. Just one piece of advice, if in the course of talking to her she gives you any sort of ultimaturm and says you have to choose between her and skydiving, dump her ass immediately and keep jumping. Ultimatums set up horrible relationship dynamics. Sounds like she might be headed that direction. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  23. I made my first skydive on the first anniversary of my divorce, so I've been through it pretty recently. Getting divorced sucks, you've gotten good advice, finalize that thing while you are both in a non-vindictive, non-fighting mood. Be thankful you don't have kids. Getting divorced sucks, but being divorced is great! It can take a while to get there, though. Take care of yourself. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
