thought you may enjoy this one-ITS A UFO!!!
liftedtitan replied to paraSD's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
too bad 90% of californians are transplants, so your point is pointless. Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt. -
WTF is air trash?

Ive read him post on this issue before (Brian Germain). He says it is nearly impossible to fall out of your harness with a loosened chest strap during cutaway/reserve deployment. Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

FAA to fine Lodi $664,000
liftedtitan replied to SkydiveJack's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Actually it might draw focus, to everyone that I agree with. But to say everyone is going to have to do more is a little extreme. The FAA will probably keep the same rules that are supposed to be followed anyways. So in reality it "shouldn't" cost anyone anymore money, it will just force DZO's to do what they are supposed to be doing in the first place. Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt. -

I just want to know what happened? "didn't straighten out in time" what does this mean? Stuck toggle? panic? Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt. -
Advising Students to "cut-away" via ground radio command
liftedtitan replied to Scrumpot's topic in Instructors
i know nothing about these different radio systems but have just one question. if there were to be a multi-channel radio system implemented, would the ground instructor have one transmitter that he/she would select the chennel on? or would it be a multi transmitter deal? seems like a lot for one person to manage AND have to make sure they are on the right channel etc. what about using canopy colors as a designation? Static line - PC in tow?
liftedtitan replied to CornishChris's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I like the gut at 1:38 with no eye protection. Must be easy to read the old alti..... Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt. -
guy at 2:55!! so sick! Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

It is not fair to say that all mains will fall out once the reserve is deployed. Some are tighter in the containers than others. Like stated before, with a PCIT ill take my chances with a POSSIBLE 2 out than with manin risers no longer connected AND an entagled reserve. Id rather have the chance of clawing 1 or both out of the bag (like this guy here in the video). Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.
-
with a pilot chute in tow, i never understood why one would cutaway then pull reserve. with a pillt chut in tow, the main is stuck in the bag, nothing to cutaway. I feel this guy did the right thing, PIT dump reserve and HOPE it clears. If not (like in this situation) at least you have 2 chances of getting fabric over your head. let it be said, ask an isntructor! but had this guy chopped before going to reserve, there is a good chance he would have died (his main is what eventually opened) Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

Brian Germain has a nice video on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axCeYlY_6io Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

holy FUCKING shit! Nice job on not giving up! The glove is a little weird, do you think it had anything to do with it? Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

I think he means have the rig on the ground, and pull the main in the direction it would normally be during deployment. Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

Well, UPT does list it on their order sheet as being "SKYHOOK RSL"... Seeing as they invented the skyhook, I'll take their word on it. \ tried to find the opotion for both.....care to point out where it is? Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.
-
RSL and skyhook? wow Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

I think it is possible for the right sized canopy and situation to arise where the g's are so strong you can't reach your handles. But to get to that point you would probably have to be incapacitated in some way to let yourself get to that point. Chances are any "proof" of a situation like this will never exist, the person would have died. Wingsuiters say that with a violent enough spin there arms are not movable, but this likely has to do with the "rigid" wing not colapsing but still similar and in addition the "axis" is small compared to suspension lines. Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

i dont know, it seems like he was spiraling pretty bad. Do you have an RSL? Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

LOL Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

is this because of the difficulty of kicking? it just seems like 2.5-3 twists, kinda standard for sport rigs sometimes. Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.

I came accross this and wondered if this is common practice for TI's. A few line twists=cutaway? then to say "oh fuck here goes" before cutaway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q51XBsg-ce0 Moriuntur omnes, sed non omnes vixerunt.
