The newer dolphins are Free Fly Friendly if that's a concern. I currently own a Dolphin DOM 2002. I'll probably won't buy another because I like the look of other containers better. Not because I think Dolphins are unsafe to jump. Blue Skies Black Death

Just so you know if you are thinking of buying a safire 1 190 Depending on where the canopy was manufactured it will be about the same size as a Sabre 170. Also I weigh a little less than you do and jump a safire 1 189 and I'm not bored with it at all.(after 250+jumps) I'm now starting to get a feel for what this canopy can do. Blue Skies Black Death

I believe the opposite would be true. After you've done 1000's of jump you know exactly what a "good" parachute should look like and wouldn't hesitate to chop a mal. I don't think someone with that much experience would think to themselves "this can't be a malfunction I've packed the same way for the past 1289 jumps this ball of shit will eventually work it's way out." I suppose I fall into the second group. But i was taught not to depend on an electronic device... so I turn it on in the morning and I don't think about it again until the next morning or next weekend or whenever I show up at the DZ again. My AFF level 1 taught me a lot about self reliance. Under radio I hear "Turn right" I turn right "turn left" I turn Left "Pkl...k;oj;;" me thinking what did he say??!! "Pkl...k;oj;;" Now I'm waiting on the radio to start working again instead of flying the landing pattern I was taught. Result...landed off in a clearing of tall grass surrounded by trees... Wouldn't it be best for the high puller to get out last. This would insure no free fallers in the airspace above. Also at our dz jumprun is always into the wind this would also put the high puller upwind. I've done it lost of times never had trouble getting back. This is all very entertainingg. But I would like to bring up a serious problem and that is Poop-Stacking this usually occurs on construction sites when the only available Place to Poop is a Port-a-John. I was just reading through some of the incidents. It occurred to me that people are real tight lipped about the identity of individuals who do things that are not so smart and screw up. But when Jumper X carves the whole circumference of the pond then scores a 0.0 on the accuracy tuffet while blindfolded. We scream His/Her name from the top of Mt. Everest. "Jumper X Kicks Ass!" "Jumper X Rawks"" "Jumper X Is So Cool" "Jumper X is my inspiration!" When Jumper X smacks Him or Herself into the side of the manifest hanger everyone is Hush Hush about His or her Identity. Why?? To me Skydiving is about acceptance I accept the fact that I could do everything right and still leave my Children fatherless. Some say they don't want to reveal the name of the person out of respect for the family or friends. If I femured Myself my family or friends could give a rats ass about someone in Boise Idaho calling me an Idiot for trying to swoop the hanger on My fresh out the box vx with my whopping 250 jumps on student gear. I guess all I'm saying is give up the names. They might be a hero to some up and coming jumper. I guess as one of the few Non-White (African-American) I'll chime in. I'll only speak on the African-American portion of the Non-White community. Reasons African American don't skydive in no particular order. 1) Economics--- this is not a cheap sport. The unemployment rate in the Black community is usually 2x the national rate. 2) Culture--- Although African Americans participate in sports we rarely participate in Extreme sports of any kind. Not a lot of Dirt bike tracks or Skateboard parks in the inner city. Fear--- Not the natural fear of jumping from an airplane that most humans share. But the fear of being in the boondocks ALONE with a bunch of White people you don't know. For me personally skydiving has always been a part of my spirit. I dreamed of skydiving as a child before I knew what skydiving was. Fortunately I have a wife who was just adventurous enough to set up tandem jumps for my birthday after I mentioned I wouldn't mind trying it. I was also fortunate to be in a position financially to afford the training and gear to feed my addiction (hooked after the first tandem). That just my take as an African American regular Jumper. I agree so who are the female national champions?? Or what are the solid reasons there aren't any?? Or has there been an ocassion when the the world female champions out pointed the world male champions using the same dive pool?. Blue Skies Black Death

Has there ever been an all female national or world champion in 4-way or 8-way? The reason I ask is it seems to me that women would have an advantage when it come to skydiving being more flexible which in turn makes for more fluid movement. And if there hasn't been an all female champion can someone explain why. (Maybe I have the physics all wrong). My only other theory is Men are so much more stronger mentally than women are, it overcomes any physical advantage women may have. Blue Skies Black Death
