To expand my previous answer. I suspect it means that Living Social told the drop zone they had to discount the package by X% (55% seems to be what it ended up being) so the drop zone figured out how to make the numbers work by throwing in some extras and padding the total, then discounting off the padded total. ^This. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. IIRC there are only 8 or so vendors in the US for Airtec, everyone else selling them in the US orders from one of those vendors. I worked for at least one of those vendors and will tell you the price varies with exchange rate when buying direct from the manufacturer. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. AFAIK USPA never waivered Red Bull to do any such thing. In fact USPA would be unable to waive the FAR's. Now the Red Bull and other teams (like the crew that did the Transformer movie jumps in downtown Chicago) have done Jumps from Helos with BASE gear, but it's been the TSO'd rig that Jumpshack makes using a chest mount round reserve. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. I don't agree with this quote at all. I would suggest there may be some programs that work that way, but not the one I'm part of. It's all about the foundation of the program and the people who implement it, and having spent 13 years in the biz, and 2 with this program I haven't seen anything better yet.
