  1. I have just the right tool for you JP! http://tinyurl.com/7buokph You know I love you. Just like in prison. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  2. I've DONE thousands, er 7,000. Yeah, me too. Yeah, 2,000+ Yeah, 57. Point 1. You're welcome to your opinion. Point 2. I'm welcome to mine. Point 3. You invite me to express my opinion when you imply that people are dirtbags for charging more for more work. Point 4. If you find a measuring tape for me, we can finish this dick measuring competition. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  3. Then your comments on the matter mean exactly shit. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  4. The whole theory of legislating to counter act legislation that has already been approved is whacked. What kindergarden level politics is this country sinking to? Don't like how the vote went? Write a bill that counters the one that was just passed. Sore losers. Suspect the vote won't go your way? Run out of the state for a while to try to bring everything to a halt till you get your way. The equivalent of a political temper tantrum. Grow the fuck up DC. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  5. I'd like to see if they have the moxie to post the comment I left. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  6. Thank you, I've said similar things in the past although I highly doubt anything will change. Why do you think it should be the way YOU want it to be? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  7. It seems like there should be daily or weekly inspections for cracks and loose nuts & bolts, just like they do with amusement park rides, so that problems can be detected and fixed before they become catastrophic. There should be an inspectioni checklist, and the employee who performs the inspection should sign it attesting that he's done the work and confirms everything is good to go. Some tunnels do a very detailed daily inspection and some don't. I've always been of the opinion (as witnessed) that Orlando and Perris do such inspections. It's not the first time, nor will it be the last that something goes wrong. Everything in life has risks. In case it's not clear I feel Orlando and Perris both run fine faciltlities which I'd be happy to fly in any day of the week. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  8. I take exception to that. I AM an asshole. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTVpxxzb2Dc ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  9. Who the fuck cares? 23% of 1 million dollars contributes a WHOLE lot more to the pot than 28% of $30,000. Buncha greedy whiners! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  10. I'll proudly raise my hand as someone who values human life and this sport MORE than social niceties. Social niceties are good, but so are examples. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  11. So, are we going to have to go to meetings and how many "steps" are there?
  12. Old school works. Wish I could get that through the heads of the new school types. A-FUCKING-MEN! I've got no problem pointing out where slack valley is, and that way people have a choice. The can get good, or they can get dead. Gravity and the planet ain't "nice". ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  13. There are old skydivers and there are bold skydivers, but there are precious few old, bold skydivers. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  14. Wouldn't be the first time. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  15. I predict lawyers using this feature to point out negligence by any school who doesn't have them set to the maximum height possible. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  16. Do you shoot regularly? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  17. I quit competition before the new FAI CP rules. Under the 2005 rules I scored 2 that season in competition. I have yet to hit a DC. Since you're throwing it out there, can you do both? The comparison is like saying freeflying is harder than 4 way. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  18. I'm actually kind of on the fence on this one. The Triathlon IS a hard canopy to get to land well, so here's what I suggest. Take $75 and order a demo Sabre 2 170 or Pilot 168 from the manufactures and try that. Change the design before you change the size. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  19. And how many DC's have you scored? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  20. I know. But setting the example is the best way I know how to use that experience I have to slow things down. We've been learning as we go this past few years, and I think that it's safe to say that there is a point at which the wing loading spread gets too big for everyone's safety. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  21. True, but 1.8 is closer to the 1.2ish that I find is the common wing loading among low(er) experienced skydivers then 2.5 is. It stresses me out a lot less to be flying in that smaller wing loading gap. PS I think the next new rig is going to be 150's. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  22. I won medals in it, but have grown to see it as a sport that needs to be separate from the whole of skydiving. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  23. I do. I'm tired of this go fast without consideration or training making the environment I play in more dangerous. I'm now more fearful of the parachute decent than the freefall or deployment. I put my money where my mouth is this year. Went up in size, 88 to a 120, and selected a type that lets me float more so to place my self in the safest airspace for landing. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  24. Yeah, I mean that's SOOOOO dangerous. It's way MORE dangerous than when they used to have 35+ jumpers landing at the same time fromt hose DC-3 loads back int he 70's and 80's..... You can't get the guys loading at 2.5 to pull lower than 3,500 these days and those that load at 1.0 are comfortable pulling at 2 so there's the beginnings of your problems. I'm not saying its a realistic solution but everyone loaded at 1.0 would sure do a bunch to improve safety around this sport. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
  25. The USPA BOD eliminated the requirement that "tandem students had access to a visual altimeter". Apparently this was done because some DZ's chose to consider "access to a visual altimeter" to mean an altimeter ON the student, and some simply that they could see the instructors altimeter. This led to a question among the RD's about how the rule should be enforced, leading in some form of strange wisdom to the elimination of the rule. Currently AFAIK there is NO USPA requirement to have an altimeter of any type, any where, on any participant on a tandem skydive. And yeah, I've seen I's that are doing just that because it strokes their egos. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
