The Acme Boot Company that used to employ Clarksvillians is now in Puerto Rico. These are couple of examples. I think that this coupled with ever increasing income tax is a contributor to squeezing out the Middle Class.

Obviously this thread will continue. Moderator, it's your world. I apologize for exercising your function. This subject is a touchy one. It just seems to me like the middle class is being squeezed out. There goes your tax base that you were talking about Bill. Paul, you were correct about the companies who stand on the shoulders of the workers. They should thank the workers. I was just being thankful to them for initially providing job opportunities. We all know what happened and why this country needed labor unions. Unadulterated & unchecked greed will ruin this nation. Finally, I can see George's point. Some of us don't make alot of money, but we are not starving, waiting in a line just to buy our necessary staples. Where are we going? Not everyone can become a nurse, soon this market will be flooded as well. I live in a soldier town and i wonder what those men and women are going to do when they get out of the Army. Without people like Carneggie, Vanderbilt, ad infinitum, many Americans would have not had a job. These "RobberBarons" should be appreciated. They worked their butts off to get what they got. But at the same time, The working man/woman needs a wage or salary that will allow them to make a living. How do you see this? What should the minum wage be? What kind of jobs are there for non-skilled laborers, & now college grads for that matter? Please post your comments and feelings about the wealthy and the not so wealthy. Thankyou.

Hey Joe, solos are some of the funnest jumps. If I can't find someone to jump with, I'll do a solo and can't resist doing some flips.

I had a friend that I had introduced to skydiving. He actually got to meet and jump with Jerry Bird one time about ten years ago. Jerry introduced him to turning pieces and slung him around a few times. My friend was thrilled to get to jump with him.

Well, I don't get paid for it. But it is a labor of love. It's a committment and an innate responsibility. To know that my two children are totally dependent upon me to meet their basic needs, to know they love me and that I love them so much. It's a wonderful responsibility.

I did static line progression. My first 20 second delay, I actually arched a little too hard and potato chipped a bit. I saw the plane as I was falling away and it looked like the Cessna was potato chipping. not me. All of a sudden I saw the Caney Fork River. It was so beautiful! I must have relaxed when I saw it because I suddenly realized that I was falling straight down the tube! No rolling, no flipping, no turning. Just falling. Did a couple of 180's and saw the runway, the hangar, etc... Man what rush!
