Perhaps true! Do tell about the learned experiences here - I'd like to see some scientific data. Or is it just a few datapoints from a few different people (who probably each tried just one-ski-model?) Well I just look at the fact that all the forward speed of the wingsuit sends your parachute back on deployment instead of upward (look at the "Does this look scary" thread) so I would hate to have to deploy with skis on... looks like a stupid risk to me I know, I know! You don't need the parachute cause you plan on landing the skis but are YOU going to be the one to try this without a parachute in order to gather data?

Well it was part of my FFC and every other FFC I was within ear shot of... maybe thats just from this specific coach, in which case I appologize

Considering what we now know about the wingsuit/skis combo I would have to go with fantasyland

for the squirrel its more like a propeller than a wing unlike that flying lemur that has a leg wing... ugly ass thing though lol

Yeah but the problem is we have to start from "our bodies were never meant to fly but..." so that is a big problem, the only way I see this happening is through slow flight but then we need to have someone very light AND very strong to hold those big wings for a REALLY long time... from a plane anyway The squirrel has no leg wing btw

Lately I have been studying flying squirrels, and what I have noticed is the speed. There is no forward speed! So amazing to see them fly, they can even carve and do S turns and they flare to a vertical position when they hit the brakes. A friend filmed 2 of them going "over/under" each other... anyway the main problem I see with humans is the weight, I don't want to say never but I don't see us getting enough surface to have us fly slow enough. That being said I was thinking what if we had deeper wings? Hard to put into words so bare with me here... What if we had wings that inflated like a bubble gum or half a bubble to really trap the air? So instead of having a "straight" piece of fabric between each limb it would be a deeper bubble. Would be harder to fly of course but to me this seems like it would slow the flight down to survivable landing... or does this just sound stupid?

Thats my issue as well, I do know what you mean by single attachment point but I don't see how it affects deployment compared to a double attachment point

Ok so this has been on my mind quite a bite, looking at my rig I think I understand what you meant... Here is a pic I took of my setup, I think this is what you meant although I am still concerned with the weight of it causing problems

If you could please explain what you mean by double attachment for the hackey, I don't undersatnd what you mean Should I have my rigger sew more of the ball to the briddle?

Couple weeks ago I purchased a camera helmet and I did Not get it on the day they said I would on the tracking site, by the end of the day it said I did not have the funds to take possession of the package and a 2nd attempt would be needed... blah, blah, blah but they never even showed up in the first place! When I called they said CS would call me within an hour and did not (wtf?) How the hell are you going to blame me for not showing up? I got it a day later and will do my best never to do business with them again
