Actually she is the one who paid for my first five jumps. and the ground school. Didnt know what she was getting me into I think! She heard me talk about jump school in the Army and thought it wouold be a good birthday pressent. Now if I can just get her to buy me a rig!

Just so it is understood I give all clients a written garantee about the quality of the work. Before, I start. depending on the type of work it is good for five years even for incedental repairs. Some kid comes up with a sledgehammer and breaks something, i'll repair it for free!

Does anyone here have a significant other that doesnt jump? If so how do you get them involved in what you arte doing. Or do you? My wife and I like to travel and I can see myself looking up drop zones in every area we may be going! do many familly member just hang out and socialize while the jumping spouse gets in the plane? how about at boogies. are there numbers of non jumping folks who go? How are they treated by the jumping comunity? My wife wont get into a plane much less jump from one. but she is great fun to be around and who knows a nurse might be needed sometime! Just wondering!

Why is it whenever I am hired to do a job for a "Proffesional" (Like lawyer doctor etc) They almost always seem to want to tell me how to do the job. For example last week I put in a driveway for a lawyer. He was there the whole time telling me how to muck rake and finish the concrete. On another job last month I was installing a flagstone retaining wall for a marketing executive and ha followed my progress for three days with a two ft. level! If I go to a dentist I dont tell him how to pull the tooth he is extracting, or tell a lawyer which papers to file in which court! I am amazed that these people cannot grasp the concept that I am as professional at my work as they are at thiers. If it is about what they want done I have no problem, but to stand there and tell me how to do something I have been doing for the past fifteen years gets annoying. sometime I feel like just picking up my tools and leaving (Side comment of "OK you do it"). Sorry I had to rant its getting pretty annoying.

OK Ill bite. Darwinism if true survival of the fitest Evolution etc is usuallly defined and grabbed and exalted by the same people who give massive support for welfare and helpping the needy. (weakest not the fittest) on the other hand many Creationist take the point of individualism and let it be attitude many not all in both cases but still confusing to me!

The question then becomes.... How do we "Middle roaders" get thing done when we have to chose between one extreeme or the other?

so many people here are polarized as to being a conservative or liberal. If your one it seems you must hate the other. Personally I have mixed opinions on one side it may be conservative on the other liberal. I am going out on a limb here but I would be interested in your opinion as to my thoughts on subjects as to whether they are concervative or liberal! Major issues. 1. Abortion. My position. A person has the right to decide what to do with thier body. Thye time to decide is before engageing in sexual activities. Abortion should not be used as BIRTH CONTROL. In the cases of insest or rape were the woman had no control or choice fine by all means. 2. Religion. Born and raised in a Quaker home, I am a Christian. That being said, I do not force my moral or religeous beliefes on anyone. My actions and lifestyle have often brought people to me to ask about it and Ill tell them my thoughts. I dont believe that any Religeous doctrine should be the foundation for government, However I don't want the government prohibiting me from expressing myself ( As in Saying Merry Christmas to someone in my kids school. 3. Taxes If you want government you have to pay for it. street sweepers dont do it for the fun of it. Without government all desolves into Chaos. I do believe that each person should pay his or her fair shair. I also believe that The elected officials should be held extremely accountable to the public. If I pay fifty dollars to some one to fix a pipe I want the pipe fixed. 4. Size of government. Trickie question.Government should be as big as it needs to be to get the job done. We dont need twenty men on a government payroll to shovel snow off the court house steps. government jobs to keep government moving and functional is good. Government jobs for the sake of creating jobs, Bad. 5. Unions If people working for a company want to get together and all agree on a collective barganing agreement fine. More power to them. It will be up to the companies owners to accept or deny the plan. If it is finacially workable for the company and agreeable to the employees all is good. As for me, I know the value of my work. I dont want to be forced to work at a certain company or told I can only do this or that job. I like the variety of tasks I do and dont want to be constrained by Union rules. I hire myself out to the company I chose to work for on the basis of my skills and the wages and benefits they are willing to pay. If those change, Ill go to work somewhere else no hard feelings. 6. Welfare I believe that almost everyone sometime needs a helping hand. it can be very difficult to pick oneself up sometimes. welfare should be just that a chance to get back on track not a lifestyle. 7. Immigration If someone comes to this country looking for a better life, with the intent of obeying the laws and willing to put the effort in I say "WELCOME" Many of the people I work with are immagrants and a harder working group I have never seen. My company even provides legal assistance to help them keep thier paperwork in order. But if the laws are not followed or you just snuck in to get on the easy welfare plan My boot will be on your backside to get you back where you came from. 8. Raceism If I am going to hire someone or ask a question I am going to the person I think best for the job. I dont care if someone is green If they can do it best Its them for the task period. I dont owe anyone anythiong because they have more or less melanin in thier skin. 9. Employment/minimum wage. I have worked hard and studied hard to achieve a certain set of skills that is marketable almost anywhere. I know the value of my work and what I want in return for it. I dont believe I deserve as much as say a doctor. But I do believe i should get more for my labors than they guy who just sweeps the floor.If you raise the minimum wage to twenty five dollars an hour whats the point in trying to improve your set of skills and marketability when you will get paid the same as the guy who just wants to do as little as possible and go home. I take pride in the work I do and it is reflected in the quality of the products I produce. Thats where the wage differential lies. 10.War There is no justice in war. Its a horrible thing. But, "When in the course of human events...." Whether its another country or the asshole in the bar oppressing tose who do not have the ability to defend themselves it is time for someone to stand up and say "NO MORE!" Not for profit not for political advantage but because it right. Ok does this make me a liberal or a conservative?

You guys set up the rules... you have to live with the results. You are the ones who make on average 35 to 40% more in the workplace.. forcing many women to rely on men economically. Many women are trained to ...at all costs.. find a man that will support them. If you do run across some of the women so trained.. is there little doubt that if you are not providing as well as they expect.. that they will still be looking for a man who can support them the way they wish to be??? Perhaps if more men actually supported equal opportunities for women in careers and were more financially independent and could earn their own living you would find less of the type of women you guys seem to want and get. I would love to hear you tell MY wife that sghe is dependant on me.. OOOHHHH THATS RICH!!!! We got together precisely becase we didnt NEED each other we wanted each other.

If more people thought of the consequences of that cool little hook up... and realize that... the fun can lead to a 20 year commitment of time and energy to raise the result of that hookup... perhaps. The flip side is.. just because a couple of you hooked up does not give YOU the right to ownership of her life for the next 20 years I dont know about you but my responsibility as a parent ends when I'm dead. Not just twenty years. I thank God I still have the love and support of my parents now. I'm Always asking for advise. As for children themselve. A parent who teaches them to be independant and responsible give them the greatest tools for life that is possible. To many people either ignore their kids as inconvieniant or smother them with everything they can peovide. Let them earn the extras in life Cell phones Ipods etc. Birthdays and Christmas not withstanding. If they learn to expect things later in life when nobody gives them anything they will decide to take them! Its a matter of perception that "I deserve to have this" that makes someone act criminally. Especially if there is no sense of RESPONSIBILITY! anyone can be a parent it takes Love and commitment to be a good one!

OK I know its not typical or "P>C" But. When my wife and I got devorced she got the kidss at first. Court believing that the children belong with thier mother . But I never quit. two years later I got the kids and have raised them ever since. A life philosophy of mine. Take action and take responsibility for that action. As a single dad for eight years I did just that. With the support from my family "Support not dependance" I worked raised the kids took them to Cubs scouts, tae kwon do, etc. All without child support, I did gert food stamps for about three months when I lost a job, But I didnt rely on it for long. It is possible to raise good kids as a single parent . anyone who says differently is just lazy. My step daughter got pregnant at 17. "Before my Current wife and I were married. She went to school became a nurse. and now makes as much or more than I do. All it takes is determinatiuon and the concept. That "I CAN DO IT" and "MY KID{S} DESERVE IT! KIds cant "RAISE themselves. It lkike trying to learne how to fly a plane with no instructor. Possible yes, the probability of a crash HUGE.

Years ago I was a member of a search and rescue team, SRT. I was an EMT for the rock rescue squad. I dont know how many times things got worse than they could have been because someone who thought he knew what he was doin tried to "help". Just get the guy comfortable and covered in a blanket and wait for qualified help to get there!

I am Amazed!!! A report was released today about the number of people collecting foods stamp benefits. 33 million people received foods stamps this month. In principle I agree with the food stamp program. When I became a single parent of three kids years ago I used them. But only for as long as it took me to get it all back together. The problem being the abuse of the system running rampant. At my kids school there are about half of the students on free or reduced lunches. Free for those that are on food stamps. As I walk these halls for school events I have noticed that most if not all the kids have a cell phone, Ipod/mp3, or other "Teen necessary" gadget about their person. Most of them seem to be dressed in designer clothes, (Pathetic as some of those styles are)and expensive shoes. One teacher in economics asked my daughters class how many had cell phones. 30 out of 34. how many of those 30 paid for their cells phone and bills 1. The point of this rant is that people who are using food stamps should be doing so as a last resort. Not, in an effort to afford the luxuries like cell phones, etc. I even heard on woman (who I know to be on food stamps) complain that she cant afford to pay her energy bill because her daughters cell phone/text bill was $150.00. I realize times are hard for some people and I am more than willing to help. However, I am appalled with the fact that you and I are paying for people to spend their time texting each other over their inability to pay for their food. Think I'm exaggerating... go to a welfare office and count the people on their cell phones!!!!

So many people in this country are concerned about the prospect of dieing that they forget the purpose of life is to "BE ALIVE"! weather that is sky diving rock climbing skiing or reading a good book.I f we spend all our time doing nothing because its "DANGEROUS" we will all end up locked in our houses working on the phone from home and dieing of radon poisoning! The desire to live and the NEED to FEEL ALIVE is what separates sky divers and our like from the rest of humanity and THEY will NEVER understand!!!!

This morning the cops were out in force giving tickets to people who had turned on their cars to warm them up. According to local laws any car that is running must be attended. $50.00 fine
