  1. Lots of answers, lots of advice. Here's mine. Decide what it is that you want to do and then go do it. Time, money, family, commitments, yadda, shit. Quit whining, nobody feels sorry for you. No one will give you money so you'll shut up and go away. Get a LIFE! Hey that was fun, anybody else wanna bitch slap?
  2. You a little bored at work there Tommy? Didn't know you could even spell "drahpzohn". Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  3. Just got mine back yesterday (way past it's 8-year), it got a vacation in Germany too. Since it was installed in a rig that I didn't jump much I didn't miss it anyway. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  4. at least three, conservatively more like six. what did you expect with a question like that. sheesh Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  5. Wow, that's weird, I just posted a response but it disappeared..... Anyhow, there isn't any good data or consensus on the glide of the Sabre. In theory wingloading within reasonable limits shouldn't affect glide, only speed. If you do some testing I'd like to see the results, I have several Sabres but haven't had the time to measure glide. I doubt that it is identical for my 107, 120 and 150 but it should be similar. I have a groundlaunch that could be doable at 2.5 but I'm guessing that we're talking more like 2.0 for the Sabre. 6. The actual dividing line is at 1.24786 so you're still OK unless you pig out then it's really dangerous. Serious. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  7. RSLs add complexity to the system. You describe another good example of this even though an unlikely scenario. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  8. How about an old Sabre so it's cheap to replace if you can't find it after a cutaway. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  9. I own 4 Sabres. Cheap to buy, easy to fly, you can swoop the shit out of em (but they won't hold their speed). Excellent w/s canopy. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  10. Or if the BASE guys come over and tell you that you're pulling way stupid low then you probably are. Unless you're jumping BASE gear. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  11. There once was a girl from Nantucket Who couldn't be bothered to tuck it. She flew very well Til Velcro gave her hell Freefliers who saw this said fuck it. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  12. All modern linesets are made of safe materials. Durability is a tradeoff between longevity (Spectra) and trim issues (Spectra) or shorter life (Vectran, HMA) and zero shrinkage (Vectran, HMA). The real reason I'm even bothering with this discussion is that a main point is missing: skydiving is supposed to be FUN! If someones fun factor is increased by choosing colored gear then whooppee! Probably hard to find incidents related to color choice. Incidentally the only canopy I've owned that several people went out of their way to tell me was very hard to see was solid red. Who'da thunk it. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  13. Um........I was referring to suspension and brake lines. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  14. Didn't you choose your canopy colors? Jumpsuit colors? Why not line colors? Obviously the lineset must be correctly sized. Performance is virtually the same for all lines outside of the competition arena, durability and shrinkage are the only real differences and definitely must be taken into account by the user. Sometimes you eat the bear..............

  17. I don't know when the Caravan returns but Ritzville is a great DZ. Warm weather, no fog in summer, no s&t mill. I'm likely to NOT get a V-3 (see, still on topic) but prolly a Raptor PDQ and keep the V-2. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  18. My bridle wrap was around the PC, choked it down to about fist size. Ugly PC in tow mal that I would prefer not to see again. Sometimes you eat the bear..............
  19. Has anyone had PC problems that they believe were caused by a hackey handle? I'm planning on switching to a tube or an internal. Wingsuit BASE PCs don't use hackeys because they are prone to bridle wraps and can cause other PC mals. I don't think the smaller skydiving PC is less susceptible to those issues. 21. If it's not airworthy now how does jumping it for the next couple of months seem okay to you? Sometimes you eat the bear..............
