  1. A friend of mine jumps a system like this I would say the quality is as good as most systems. The week link, in his case, seems to be the recording camera, carried in a pouch under his wingsuit on the chest. Because of the wire you are trading "wrisk of entanglement" for hassle with a wire running up around your neck to a small bullet on your helmet. Sometimes the hassle just isn't worth it. Although he has gotten some nice footage just holding it in his hands and pointing it at the subject when up close. Its a great tool for unusual angles and awkward mounting though, you can run the wire and tape the bullet anywhere. For regular jumps with camera I would stick with a good simple helmet system
  2. I am sure the BMI's will flame me for this but I am all about getting more wings in the air! I know where you are coming from. More people to play with. Rental fee + shipping is very reasonable as you will see tremendous wear and tear on your personal fleet of demos. Not really by all the borrowers just by one or two users that will be hard on gear. Events by these individuals will put on 95% of your wear. If you got access to willing repair resource, then it may work out fine. BMI rated or not good things will come from helping people that appreciate getting into the air in a wingsuit. You just want to limit your legal and fiscal exposure. Some people will travel far and pay what it costs for the joy of flying in a wingsuit ( and respect the equiptment ). Some will take you and your gear for granted and expect a free hook-up. This is where the bMI has the advantage, its corporate and not personal gear. Since the sim and DZ's WS standards are evolving around the Bird-man recommened flight number requirements, you may open yourself to huge legal liability if you loan suits or train anybody under 500 ( as recommened by BM ) jumps. Even though there are other brands out there that have no recommendations, If there is an injury or fatality. Not a problem if you live in a van, big problem if you own a home or business. I see a big distiction between tandem ratings and wingsuit instructor ratings. Flying tandems the TM is responsible for the life of a passenger and, for the most part, has complete control over the gear and how it is used. Teaching an already licensed skydiver to fly in gear that once in the air you have no control over is much different. The various TM ratings are expensive to get and there are days of evaluation and many jumps involved. Everyone with a tandem rating positivly has been through the course and most likely paid up the cash for it themselves. This very same thing cannot be said about everybody on the BMI list. Although I'm positive that they are all "qualified" I'm also positive that not all have been evaluated and have payed for the course. The upside is that flying tandems can be very lucrative. If I wanted to haul in the cash in skydiving that is the rating I would get. It can be such a money maker that some bMI's can't afford to turn away a weekend of "hauling meat" to teach some FF wingsuit courses. This is just my opinion and not those of my sponsors. Glen
  3. Sara is sweet! And a nice aggressive wingsuit pilot. A good buddy and myself had the pleasure of some nice 4-way mix-it-upside down flying with Sara and JC last sunday, a nice way to end the day.
  4. Thanks but no need. Along with the virtual slap in the face I got the same treatment from friends and now have all this info in front of me, metric and standard. Live and learn.
  5. It is suspect. Our dropzone used to be the kind of place that you could leave your gear out, although all bets were off after dark, and never have any problems. Our high profile losses, if I understand correctly, aren't skydiving related but things like bicycles that anyone can use and redistribute without suspicion. In one case a vagrant was found and I hope charged when a local saw a DZ bike in his possession. And then there are some reports (or tales) of camera related stuff disappearing but I can't verify this.
  6. Hi Dave, can you take some measurements of your 350 height ,lenght , thickness for some of us? This looks like a good upgrade when my PC-5 dies. Glen
  7. My gut feeling is that you have to understand both jumpsuit repairs and canopy repairs before tackling wingsuit repairs. I would agree with your assesment Rob.
  8. The last grab. The rider is sitting back partly due to the drag of the tube. The other rodeo pair is in full flight ( or fall ) while we were more air brakes on with all of the drag and head high attitude they had to do "S" turns just to stay around us although this grab is from their camera.
  9. Here is a third. We all agreed there was no way the exit was going to work. Double rodeo pair floating outside the otter the single flyers inside.
  10. 6-way Birthday jump. Double rodeo + single wingsuit and one tracker. Oh yeah, and a tube.
  11. I agree, riggers work on A/C egress systems and other such life saving stuff. Jumpsuits are a pain in the ass. I can build a 26' Tri-Con in the time it takes to repair a jumpsuit. Sparky OK which one of you nice riggers will do repairs on wingsuits?. Becuase the people that specialize in jumpsuit repair don't want to touch them.
  12. Did the mal result from the rope solely and directly or a multitude of things?
  13. Wasn't there a fatality were a skysurfer was being towed or pulled by a tracker with something like a ski rope? ( as it was described to me ). The rope was accidentaly let go by the tracker and it fatally wrapped the skysurfer. Calmer minds relate this story to me whenever I think of dumb stuff to do with extra lines and wingsuits. I don't know how true it is and the guys that were more involved with Skysurfing may have the factual data.
  14. The Hipster Ad The Hip-Hop Fashion Page The Edgey Article Dude You're too sexy for your cat, too sexy for your cat. Keep shaken that tush on the cat walk You're a model,......... I know what you mean.

  16. Does My ass look big in this inflatable butt Kim?
  17. I got a Voodoo without the pussy symbol, used , a staff rig that I didn't order custom. I'm sure Sandy would make you one that way too. Just be prepared to have people ask if its a Talon. Few riggers like the way the Voodoo looks if the main is not packed a certain way and the good looks are easier to come by on the smaller ones. I personnally love the tear drop shape of them but I am a twisted individual.
  18. Do I have to use the glitter one? Don't get me wrong I want glamour as much as the next guy but I don't want to be sent home from work suspected of having the huanta virus.
  19. Quote Unless you have heavy heavy rotating equiptment you can lean against.
  20. You mean the half hour warm-up before the soft core porn?
  21. Cool, I get you drift and I agree, but its going to be really tuff to be stealthy with the noise of two mini-jets sizzling up both sides of the valley.
