  1. I agree, 30 days for an aad fire? WTF? You don't need 30 days of standing around becoming less current, you need more training
  2. Still recovering from surgery... doubt I will make it this weekend. PUSSY
  3. Does Aerodyne still produce thier Vision canopy? I don't see an ad for it on thier website anymore.
  4. Narcilepsy ....your Dr. can help
  5. I write it on the card. I don't write it down so much for the jumper, but for the next person packing the rig. I think it gives a nice refrence point when you are changing loops. I use a digital scale to test. My wife brought it home for me one day as a little "rigger gift", I don't have the heart to tell her it sucks
  6. Thats how we learn to skydive in this day an age. And if a jumper is smart, they will take baby steps while being babysat......it makes for an older, less broken skydiver in the end
  7. Knowledge dispells fear.....and Danger Mouse kicks ass
  8. Gentlemen, mud slinging ain't gonna solve nothing here. It's obvious these manufacturers are here to stay , and only time and transparacy will tell the story of reliability. I do hope however, safety devices become cheaper as time goes by and maybe even standard (like an air bag in a car). Having 3 major players is a good thing and offers the consumer a choice. Long gone are the days of "put an FXC in it"
  9. ....just so everyone knows, all those who are leary of relying on a "self check" such as the Vigil also rely on the "self check" EVERY time they jump with any AAD. Just because a factory tests a unit to near destruction, does not mean it will fire correctly the day after you get it in the mail. Every jump we do with an AAD will ultimately rely on a "self check"..... just so everyone knows.....
  10. I notice you said coveralls and not jumpsuits. Please tell me they are not in blue mechanics coveralls that say "ART" or "BOB" just below the lapel. Easy now... I like my coveralls jump suit 45 bucks for it and the pair I have has over 500 jumps on them the only downside is all the razzing I get , however they are fire retardant so if the plane goes up in smoke I wont be laminated
  11. here it is (poor picture) it only has one wire going into it (missing) to ignite it. there was a cardboard caseing covering the 2 cords sticking out. One cord is black and one cord is green. Someone was monkeying with it (God knows who you are , and has a place for you) and pulled out the wire. Looks like they then peeled open the cardboard tube to try to fix it. question is can I get it too work without too much fuss?
  12. The wires pulled out of the bottom and the cardboard sheath is gone exposing the 2 cords. Anyone here know how the guts work in one, and how I can fix the problem?

  14. Now Rob, I think we can all agree that statement went out with round chutes and stubby beer bottles!
  15. All these questions can be answered by your instructor Phil, and they are good questions to ask so start at the DZ Welcome to skydiving!
